This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

It Ain't St. Paul It's Outrage City

As a citizen of this country to watch what happens here pisses me off to the extreme. They were released but their only crime was that during the '04 RNC I-Witness Journalist's video got charges dropped for 400 people arrested because their video of the incidents did not match the officer's statement of the arrest. Well they came to the Twin Cities to protect once again a persons right to protest in a lawful manner. The orders to fuck with these people and many others came from DC and is an example of what will happen if ever large groups come together to do the same. If BO is elected will there be change made here? Don't count on it not even for a little bit. LOOK THE FUCK OUT!!

Police Raid and Detainment of I-Witness Journalists 083008

  1. As the march ended, police trailing the rear grabbed one marcher and began pepper spraying people in the area.
It wasn't immediately clear what led police to grab the man.

  2. and off topic, but I must compliment you on the pics at the top of your site.

    They're breathtakingly beautiful.

  3. Thank you for that Nunya. It seems I have to hustle at times to put up good or interesting pictures even though there are many to chose from. I got several decent ones this weekend while down at the ranch. During winter it's a challenge for sure. I took some in the Leadville cemetary that I think will go into a slide show just for the hell of it. Interesting because many of the plots have wrought iron fencing around them most of which are in a state of disrepair. My camera is with me all the time so every dog gets a bone now and then. It's fun and gives me something else to think about Thanks again. tb

  4. you did the leadville cemetary thing?

I'm impressed. My sister dabbles in photography. Sticks one in the Del Mar (mmm, they call it something else now) once in a while.

  5. I did do that last Saturday (30th).
If you click on a picture in the slide show it goes to that site and if you click on it one or two more times the photos become larger and one can zoom in. That gives a very good look over all. It's fun.
