I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

Protesting the Protesters

Some 18 people from groups that oppose anti-war protests as “anti-American” hoisted signs condemning CODEPINK as supporting terrorism.

This makes little sense to me. Those who protest against the war do so because it's their right to do so. Following that logic it seems to me those who disagree with that should be there not to protest that freedom but should be glorifying what happens in war.

This quote is amazing to say the least.
“I feel I have more in common with them than I do with most Americans,” Benjamin said.
To make a statement like that which I understand clearly explains how fucked up people are in this country when it comes to the war in Iraq. We are so screwed.

War Crimes from Political Cat

Read this excellent post from Political Cat and stole it as it's exactly where OTC is coming from too. I want those who raped my country to pay for their treasonous behavior. If we are ever going to have accountability in our government it must start some place and invading another country based completely on lies from a few is the perfect place to begin.
Thank you PCat!

Image from Court of Impeachment and War Crimes Blog

Well, well, well. We haven't always liked former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad. In fact, when Anwar Ibrahim was running against him and he brought Anwar down and even had him set up, arrested, and jailed, we thought he was one of the most disgusting politicians and human beings we had ever come across.

But this week, Mister Ten Per Cent has almost completely redeemed himself in our eyes. He just called for Tony Blair, George Dubya, and John Howard to be tried for war crimes based on their actions in Iraq. From The Australian:
In a speech at Imperial College in London overnight, Mr Mahathir called for an international tribunal to try US President George W. Bush, Mr Howard and former British prime minister Tony Blair for their part in the conflict [...].

Spokesman Mohammed Shafiq said Mr Mahathir, who was in office from 1981 to 2003, wanted to see the trio tried "in absence for war crimes committed in Iraq".

"He said that people have to stop killing each other and use arbitration, negotiation and discussion as an alternative to violence, war and killing."

On the war in Iraq, Mr Mahathir spoke about "the thousands dying, the economic war, the power of oil and how we could utilise some of these tools to have a leverage against the people who commit countries to war", Mr Shafiq said.

[...]

More than 450 people attended the speech and about 200 more had to be turned away.
Why isn't any other Leader of Teh Free World stepping up and putting their support on the line? Mahathir is saying what millions of ordinary people have been thinking for a long time. Tony Blair is a war criminal. Gee Dubya is a war criminal. John Howard is a war criminal. These three stinking fetid pigballs are responsible for the deaths of one million human beings, maybe more.

We went into a secular nation that was not threatening us in any way based on the 935 lies of Gee Dubya Pigball, and we killed women, children, old people, sick people, the disabled. We destroyed families and homes, and now we can't even leave because the entire country is trembling on the verge of a civil war that threatens to destroy more millions. We took that secular nation where women had jobs and freedom, and we turned it into an Islamic fundamentalist state where honor killings have become the order of the day. From The Guardian:
Last year 133 women were killed in Basra - 47 of them for so-called 'honour killings', according to the Basra Security Committee. Out of those 47 cases there have been only three convictions for murder.

Since January this year, 36 women have been killed.
That's Basra alone. Just one city in Iraq. Who knows how many more women are being murdered in honour killings, or for failing to conform to the fundie codes of dress and behaviour that did not exist in this country when Saddam Hussein was in power.

It's a sad and shameful day indeed when a democratic nation does more harm to the rights of women in another land than its totalitarian dictator.

Meanwhile, somewhere between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden laughs his ass off watching us drown under the rising tide of debt, the cost of financing two wars, the armless, the legless, the wounded and maimed who come back to a system that can't take care of them. We can't give health care to our own children, but we're creating hundreds of thousands of potential recipients of health care, disability payment, and support services that we haven't bothered to put in place or pay for.

All the people associated with this crime against humanity need to face the gallows for their part in it. While Blair rakes in the millions, Howard has disappeared, afraid to face his countrymen, and Gee Dubya is relegated to dancing in front of reporters and acting like a cheap drunk with foreign dignitaries.

They all need to be in the Hague. Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Feith, Pearle, Rice, Cheney, Addington, Yoo, Dumbya, Gonezales, Tenet, the whole bloody lot. For shaming this once-proud nation. For destroying our system of laws. For thinking up ways to violate human rights. For approving torture. For planning and carrying out the murder of a million people. For causing soldiers who obeyed orders to commit suicide in despair due to homelessness, depression, injuries physical, mental, and spiritual. For failure to care for those they put in danger. For burdening the nation with inflation, debt, suffering, death, poverty, joblessness and misery.

A pox on all their houses! May they suffer every day of the rest of their lives from nameless fears and miseries and sickness, plague and disease.

Where are the European politicians and the other Asian politicians and the African politicians? Why are they not standing behind Mahathir in this moment? If the whole world called for these war criminals to be tried, and made it unsafe for them to travel outside the country, perhaps they would understand how much suffering they have created.

Here's to hoping Paraguay arrests the Chimpenfuehrer when he tries to flee there, and turns him over to an international tribunal.

Tree Killer #62 Meets His Maker

This weekend went to the ranch to enjoy with a few friends the fact we now own it. No matter what happens there is a place to go that I can say is mine. Don't have to pay anybody anything to live there. I would be there now but there are no good paying jobs close by.

Over the ten years we saved this old house plus so many other improvements it's a pleasure to now sit around and enjoy. Some 130 trips over the years 280 one way from here. There had been several attempts during that time to get new trees established but always after a year or so you'd look out and see one leaning and you knew it was dead as all were going to be dead because of these tree root eating rat sonsofbitches in the video below. It was so discouraging to see this happen after so much work went into the efforts to establish new trees.

In any case there is a fellow who rents one of the houses and helps out. One thing he does is trap these these rodents as is shown below. Last year he got 60 and this one is #2 for the year. It's because of this the trees in the ground now are into their third year and are doing very well.

These traps are old and specialized. When new activity is noticed as these rodents do not expose themselves except for very brief periods the tunnel end is opened the trap placed and the hole left open. The tunnels are never open so they come to close it and trip the trap. At times it takes 2-4 attempts but generally they can be had. Unclear as to what the proper name for these rodents but I think it may be a type of vole. If anyone knows for sure please tell me.

When She's Gone There Will Be Nobody

Watched this clip of Helen Thomas that I saw at WTF . She's about 110 years old and continues to do what journalists are supposed to do. This clip is dramatic to say the least. I feel for you Helen where the fuck are they? They're behind you but the faces not shown a perfect representation of the fact we don't have a press corps but a cabal of neck on down brownnosers who have whored themselves out as always. We are so screwed and if these bastards did what this kick ass women does everyday maybe just maybe there would be less sheep in my country.

I'm outta here for a couple days-it snowed last night.

Beetle Kill And War Whores

Something facing Colorado that is here now and is not going away is beetle kill. The picture below give a striking example. It's worse in other places but that makes not one shit bit of difference because it will only get worse never better. This disease is changing Colorado in a dramatic way. This article from the Denver Post explains.

Every tree in the picture below except for the monster in the middle has it. Over the last couple years maybe ten trees have been removed but this fall almost all were hit. It may not look like it now but these trees are deader than a door nail as they say. Why they haven't hit the big one I don't know. It's just a matter of time. Many of these trees are huge and are 150 to 175 years old.

Needed to get to the back side of the golf course and on the way back shot this short video. Turn the sound down as it's just engine noise.

What I wish to illustrate is that any green tree you see is history as well. The hillside right now is at least 40% gone. The first house in the video took over two years to construct and is probably lived in maybe two months if that out of the year. The statistic from the local paper from a couple years ago said 64% of the homes in Steamboat Springs are lived in that amount of time. The houses seen close to the road are under construction. Many of these homes of course carry multi-million dollar price tags.

I gotta problem with this kind of shit. First of all if you don't live in it it's not your goddamn home it becomes something other and what that is I'm not sure. The people building these are not like us. These are the ones in the top one per cent who have benefited from the killer chimp's tax cuts. They are profiteer's of war no more no less. Fuck them and the lame dick horse they rode in on. Sonsofbitches. If that analogy is incorrect please clue me in.

GOOD NEWS

Update 4/24 - this turned out so well there's no need to have it covered plus his sight tests at 20/25. Doesn't get much better than that!!

A friend of mine had a cornea transplant yesterday. They replaced the covering for lack of proper term today. The eye was uncovered for less than ten seconds and he could see the doctor. He'll know more today when they evaluate his sight but it looks good. That makes me happy because his quality of life will improve greatly. Good old Amerika-no insurance so it cost over 9K to get this done but he may be able to see and that in itself is way too cool so all in all it's okay.

Target Practice At Super Max

FLORENCE - Two inmates who died Sunday in a riot at the high security U.S. Penitentiary were shot by guards who were attempting to subdue as many as 200 out-of-control federal prison inmates.

As many as 500 rounds were fired. One guy was white the other black. The Aryan Brotherhood was partying down celebrating ze Fuehrer's B-day. When things get real shitty here we'll have our own form of ethnic cleansing. Bigotry is everywhere and it's not going away. I'm glad I don't live in one of those places.

Here at OTC we don't piss around as we're equally bigoted against just about everything. There's a lot of people I don't even know and I don't like them. For instance sure as hell do not like golfers that's for damn sure. Think they're fucking special when they pay a few bucks to chunk a ball around for five hours get pissed up and treat the course like it's their own personal shitter. Adults acting like ten year olds mixed with alcohol and a motor driven machine lowers their IQ by half the result being drunk monkeys behind the wheel raising hell.

Iraq PM Bitching And Moaning

Maliki rebuked neighboring states on Tuesday for not doing enough to strengthen ties with Baghdad, write off Iraq's debts or stop militants entering the war-torn country.

This is news? Poor fucking boy sure has learned well from his masters. Of course Sleazy Rice was just there pulling strings and threatening Sadr as if any of that will make a bit of a difference. Blame as always others when the plan does not work as if it ever was going to. Any imbecile can understand when a country invades another for lies there is no good that will come of it. They hate us they will always hate us and nothing will ever change that. We must leave Iraq now but there is no one to lead the way. We are so screwed. Gas prices too high? Like rice but it's too expensive or not on the shelf. Don't anybody bitch here when it gets even worse. It's your own goddamn fault for voting for this killer chimp not once but twice. Dumb monkeys!

Interesting Results On First MPG Test Using A New Additive

Several days ago wrote that I was going to try a fuel additive something I just don't do but did and what follows is what has been learned.

The parameters are these. Numbers rounded off to tenths except gas and that's to the penny.
28.5 is the average MPG that will be used for my car and that is being a bit generous. That drops at 80mph but it will not be driven at that speed any time soon. I drove no different than I always do and will drive the same as always.

Results of the first fill after additive was added
Started with a full tank with additive added to it. 28.2 was the mpg for that tank.

424 miles 12.3 gallons = 34.7 mpg
At 28.5 mpg that =14.9 gallons. a difference of 2.6 gallons
At $3.60 a gallon that = $9.36
It cost $1.09 for the additive which equals a savings on this tank of gas of $8.27
This equals a 23% increase overall.

I got as much damn gas in there as I could and am surpised to say the least. It's understood these results do not mean a whole hell of a lot not until there are more results but never the less this could prove to be very interesting.

Sunday Ride to Salida

Never really get tired of seeing views like this all the time.

Did see the Goodman's speak and glad I went. This was organised by KHEN in Salida a listener supported station.

Then on to BACKROADS where you can get one of

THESE.

A shredded chicken burrito with this green chili I like a lot. It was so good.

Salida
has a historic downtown along with many period houses that have been restored.

Doesn't look like much but this is where one can get one of

THESE.

The best $2.55 chocolate malt anywhere.

It was a good day but there was no fishing for several reasons. Have had the last three days off and don't want to go to work. I'm tired of working. As it is I gotta work like a sonofabitch to sit on my ass as much as I do.

Tell Me Something I Don't Know

BAGHDAD (AFP) - A top US general on Sunday warned that the military would strike back after hardline Iraqi Shiite leader Moqtada al-Sadr threatened to launch a new uprising by his militia.

What the fuck! How goddamn stupid is that anyway? No they're going to sit around and paddle the poodle and spend afternoons calling home.

To think Sadr or any of these guys will be influenced by what some tin star general threatens is beyond stupid. Doesn't anybody understand there will be no winning here ever! Bloggers do but not the sheeple or this whore media we have. We'll be listening to the same shit 20 years from now. If I was a drinking man I'd go to town and get all pissed up and be somebody. It's Sunday so will finish with an emphatic Jesus Christ!

Results Of The Day And Plan For Tomorrow

Did receive the fuel additive mentioned before and we are testing. It might not be much but if it works that will be way too cool. Hopes are high at this time.

Did go fishing and it was very nice. I was surprised that I did not catch any. Didn't even see one.

I am driving to Salida tomorrow to do several things. It's about three hours away through the mountains. I want to listen to Amy Goodman who will be there at 11:30. While there a visit to BACK ROADS to get the best shredded chicky burrito with the other best green chili to be had anywhere. A stop at Leadville where for possibly the best chocolate malt $2.65 can buy. Will try to fish somewhere either on the Arkansas around Salida or the Colorado when I get closer to home. Then there's the mileage test. Shaping up to be a good day.

Gonna Stink It Up Today

Yup that's correct- going golfing. Not here that's for damn sure. Even if it weren't white all over and not 16* it's time. Have not swung a club since late last fall plus readily admit to being a shitty golfer there will be many chunks for sure. If I could play bogey golf that would be an accomplishment and hope to at least get a couple anyway meaning par.

Wearing a new pair of slacks with pleats (oh my) as there is a dress code for sure. One has to be proper you know but the temp should reach 60 with the sun out so as soon as I can we get the shorts on. Can't wait. I'll report the impending shitty results when I get back. This will be fun and I need fun. On the way down will get a good look at the Colorado River as I plan on fishing there for a while tomorrow to see if I can get a couple (fish) there as well. As it stands neither has been had this year making both way behind schedule. I just hope I can hit the fucking ball so I don't look like 85% of the other hacks out there playing this game.

THE RESULTS
Are as expected-pretty shitty. Think three pars were had all up and downs including a chip in. Came very close to two other chip ins as well. Did get shorts on but it was chilly when the wind came up and that made things much harder. Just can't hit the ball very far any more and since I'm cheap will not allow the purchase of a state of the art driver that would make a big difference. The technology in these new clubs does work. Had a great time with two friends and the game will get better. Suppose it would help if I gave a shit. Drove the river road and the Colorado is fishable so plan on doing that tomorrow.

Something Not Seen

Received an e-mail with text about these two award winning photos along with the idea we all wear a bit of blue on Fridays as a form of protest. You have probably seen these before as I have and overall they are dramatic and touching in more than one way.

The figure I've seen is 20-25% of citizens of this country even have a clue or know we are involved in an occupation of Iraq. There is something seriously wrong here and unfortunately will not change any time soon.

Our country is run by people who love war and death enabled by a media that has their nose buried so far up their asses the truth seldom is seen but lapel pins are real fucking important for weeks at a time. If bloggers on our side were able to present our side to the sheeple the reality would eventually win out but of course that ain't going to happen. We are so screwed!

What A Gal Kinda Sleazy Is

Brave New Films has possibly done the best one yet leaving no doubt that somehow some way these (insert appropriate adjective here) must be held to account for their actions.

OTC takes the position that when the time is at hand for the strut fest to the gallows for treason and other heinous crimes against humanity killer bitches first!

Interesting Coincidence

Three weeks ago wrote this post. Little did I know that so many from many different places were interested in this man and women. There was little to be found as the reference to these people was in itself a coincidence but when they search as they continue to this day OTC is near or at the top. The comments reveal a bit about the man but not the women. It would be nice to say that the numerous hits this site has been taking is because of the quality of the content but alas it's only a coincidental fluke.

Just For The Hell Of It

I just purchased some CA-40 fuel fuel additive. I do not use additives at work or in my own vehicles basically because I'm cheap. I did so now because I think this stuff works and I want to find out if I can increase my mpg by 10% maybe more.

Since I'm lazy too at work I use just one specific type and brand of motor and hydraulic oil for everything with tremendous success and don't feel the need to improve much. Preventive maintenance and proper operation is the key to longevity. Fuel mileage is something else these days. I will find out soon and definitely reveal results. My 2000 Suby Forrester gets 28-29 mpg. I'll believe these guys from Minnesota a whole hell of a lot more than some rat fuck frat boy from the east coast who thinks he's from Texas. This will be interesting.

4/14/08

What the Hell Is That?

This is what it looked like when the sun came out on Saturday. Now there is talk of a bit of flooding. It won't be like flooding you normally hear about but for sure there's going to be high water. I bet it's the middle of June or beyond before the fishing get's good where I go.

Tiger Did Not Win

Wish he would have but the season is new. So much for the slam. Needs to get his ass back on the Green-get his mind right catching a bunch of big trout.

Some Oglala Lakota Hope Hemp Can Yield A Stable Government And A Healthy Economy

On the Pine Ridge Reservation, population 30,000, unemployment runs 85 percent, hundreds of tribal members are homeless, and the majority of those who aren’t live in overcrowded housing built by the federal government. The median annual income is $2,600; most people live on welfare checks and on food provided by the federal government.

Sounds real good to me. The idea that industrial hemp cannot be cultivated is outright fucking stupid and has been for years and given the situation over all and the positives this plant has it makes the position of this and past administrations ludicrous as usual. What are the Feds gonna do run 'em off the reservation or maybe send the FBI up there with some armor piercing ammo like in the old days? No matter what if these guys persist which I hope they do punisment will be metered out in one way or another. During WWII the cornfield(Iowa) was the leading hemp producer in the nation. It continues to grow wild many places.

Glad It's Over

I have been waiting for this time to come. No longer a member of the town board. It's a relief for sure. My last meeting would have been three minutes in length if it had not have been for a vindictive monkey who thinks he has a brain. Stayed for the real meeting after the new members were sworn in just in case the same monkey needed to be slapped because he was also bitching whining and crying about something else. What a horse's ass and there have been plenty of those over the last year and a half. I was appointed and did not seek or care to have any more time at that table.

Five of the seven seats are held by competent progressives. Feel good about that. Several times things became very intense and it made a difficult job at best crazy hard. The amount of paper one deals with even for a small town is tremendous combined with need to participate in other organizations that if one takes positions like this seriously there's so much to do it can be overwhelming at times. Good things were done and groundwork prepared for the future. We demanded accountability when needed and boy did that piss some people off. Fuck them and the horse they rode in on. The bitchers and moaners get old real quick.

The correlations between small local government and the one in Washington is what I found interesting. A good rule of thumb is to do the opposite what those guys do and you will come out otay. Even at this level there were times when there was pressure not to do certain things because of the possible ramifications even though it was the right thing to do. I understand that and also have a new found bit of respect for some in public office and a whole bunch for the good ones.

The point I wish to make is this. Yes I understand enough to know why politicians in DC may do some of the things they do and that may or may not be right but I understand. You will never get my understanding on the issue of Iraq never fucking ever!! This is fundamental basic shit on what is right and wrong. In the realm of common sense it is wrong to invade and occupy another country based on lies. You can get a bit of a pass by saying you didn't know and believed what a few were saying in the lead up to Iraq. But when the lies were finally revealed that's a whole new ballgame. No goddamn pass at all never fucking ever. You have screwed my country by not getting us out of there. Sonsofbitches anyway.

These Guys Are Still Flying Fast

A while back an acquaintance was having breakfast with two elderly couples. When I left the restaurant one of these men and his wife were leaving. He was well dressed a bit stooped over with jet black hair. He got in a bright red Monte Carlo SS. I immediately had a hunch.

Here is a picture of a life long family friend who came to my Father's funeral and this Corvette is the ride he prefers at this time. A WWII pilot and at 88 he's still flying fast. After his kids graduated Jerry has a long history of driving some of the fastest cars Chevrolet has made.

As for the hunch it turned out to be correct. The man with the Monte Carlo was a pilot in WWII and drives fast Chevy's.

I am curious if any of you happen to know of similar stories as I get a big kick out of stuff like this.

Kinda Sleazy Threatens Kenya

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has urged Kenya's government and opposition party to agree on the composition of their coalition Cabinet after the two sides suspended talks on power-sharing. "Should the accord not be implemented, however, the United States will form its own judgments regarding responsibility for lack of implementation of the accord, and act accordingly."

I despise this killer bitch along with her black brother Colon P. Do you think it may have something to do with our military base there that has forever changed the region? This slut can imply whatever the fuck she wants but it will not change the dynamics of this country because in the end tribalism will win out. My friend Rodger explains here about Kenya and tribalism whether there or other places. It's called racism here.

Just Don't Have A Hell Of A Lot

Once again find myself stagnant even though the debauchery and bullshit continues at all levels. The chimp is supposed to talk about the war Thursday on CNN. Our guys continue to die for his lies and this whore outlet will allow him to spew even more plus he will be armed with the nonsense the general will be spitting out of his pie hole today.

It's so good to be back and being able to read what my fellow bloggers are saying and informing others about. Am sick of white and very anxious to be able to take pictures that have other colors.

A very nice thing happened yesterday. Pauline from West Africa Always Wins linked to OTC. Highly unexpected and will try hard to meet a bit of the level she writes at. From the first time I visited I was a fan for several reasons and one of those are her photos. One of the latest is below. When Will It Stop?

On Saturday it snowed at least 6". This morning there must be 8-10 and it's still coming down plus the forecast is not good at all. The mountain closed yesterday so the total amount is no longer in the paper but is at 500".

I have been gone 11 days and the snow has barely receded. Last year at this time we were very close to cutting grass. There must be an average of 3' plus everywhere on this golf course. When the sun does come out and if it stays out this situation could turn into some serious shit.

I'm Nervous Just Watching

In a lighter vain saw this and am glad this is not the route I take to work.

One Less Of The Greatest Generation

Very briefly-my Father passed away while I was driving back. My two brothers were present and he never regained consciousness. There are no complaints or regrets at all and as sons we were there when these recent complications started even though we all live far away.

Every Legionnaire that was able turned out to honor him in very poor weather. His flag will now fly with all the other veteran's flags and there are an amazing amount of them from this little town of 900 people.

Colorado is now officially home.

California: Police Raid Car Enthusiast Gathering, Generate Revenue

Police raid Riverside, California parking lot to issue modified car tickets at local car enthusiast gathering.
snip

Using $503,000 in federal and state gas tax revenue to pay for overtime
, nine police agencies in Riverside, California sent more than one hundred police officers to surround a gathering of automotive enthusiasts. Owners of imported sport compact cars had gathered at the Canyon Crossing shopping center on Friday night to swap stories, talk about their passion for cars and show off the latest enhancements to their rides. At around 11pm police surprised participants by blocking all exits with fifty police cruisers. Officers then began a warrantless search and interrogation operation of the 150 vehicles that were present.

"If you're not into street racing, why would you need that?" Riverside Police Traffic Sergeant Skip Showalter asked an enthusiast during a similar crackdown last year. "Why would you want more power going to your car?
"

Police issued a total of forty-eight tickets for "engine modifications" with police accusing the owners of the parked vehicles of being street racers.

snip, my emphasis.

Someone please explain to me just how this is anyones business but the owner of the vehicle?
As long as the engine meets emission standards, how is it against the law to put performance enhancing parts on your own vehicle? And how is it possible to be street racing while you are in a parking lot full of cars?
This is so far over the top I can't believe there aren't going to be several lawsuits stem from this.I know I would be in contact with the ACLU the minute the doors opened the next day. Class action against every single police department, the state AND the federal government for civil rights violations, illegal search and seizure, harassment and whatever else they could find.Turn the whole toolbox over and throw everything in it at them. This is outrageous.

Another fifty tickets were issued for paperwork violations, dark window tinting and lack of a front license plate. The most revenue, however, will be generated from the fees imposed on twenty vehicles that were confiscated. Despite labeling the parking lot raid as taking place at a "street racing venue," Riverside Police offered no evidence that any street racing actually took place.

Across the state, gas tax funds are regularly used to fund similar crackdowns that generate big revenue. In 2004, the California Highway Patrol issued a total of 101,553 "modified car" citations worth $10.5 million according to CHP data obtained by TheNewspaper.

Other law enforcement agencies participating in Friday night's raid included the California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and police from Baldwin Park, Fontana, Irwindale, Moreno Valley, Ontario and Mount San Jacinto Community College
