I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

The Survey Says

22 percent of Internet users have canceled a print subscription because they could get the same product online.

That's the way it is these days and it ain't coming back plus as these former Rocky Mountain News staffers quickly found out no one wants to pay for reading online at least in this example.

If they could get 50,000 paying subscribers but the site attracted only 3,000 paying subscribers starting at $4.99 a month.

When we have to pay for our news that we read online that will mean the internets are lost as well as many of our freedoms including our democracy it won't mean squat to me because I will have dropped out well before that happens.

  1. It seems that newspapers without a distinct point of view are going away quicker than those with a clear philosophy. The Wall Street Journal is anti-union pro free-trade, the facts be damned. The Philadelphia Inquirer takes a different view and can be critisized for their biases as well. My point: newspapers thrive, like many products do, when they combine comfort and the expectations of their users. In an increasingly uncomfortable world newspapers need to know who they are talking to as well as what they are saying. The internet has alot of sites and advertisers are flocking to them. For better or worse opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. So the internet links, for free, money, information and opinion together allowing all 3 to prosper comfortably. Right wing assholes, too!!!

  2. They made the mistake long ago of not selling advertising on their web pages. If they had done that they would not find themselves in the situation they are in now.

I will not pay for what I can read online for free somewhere.

  3. The greedy bastards got stupid and decided that they could sell their wares doing nothing but fluf pieces and shot them selves in the foot.

When was the last time anyone saw a straight up investigative repeter ?
    Anyone?
    Bueller?

That is what newspapers were designed to do going all the way back to Franklin, why we have the first amendment, the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of the Press, to watch these motherfuckers who get elected and watch them like a horny daughter.
They sneak around in the middle of the night and pull shit off that they know would piss ya off.

    No investigative reprters?
No subscribers, it's that fucking simple.

Even with that said, If there were no news agencies, just who has the time and money to keep after these fuckers?

I do not watch television, I sometimes buy the local paper, the internet is where I get my news that I make my opinions with.
Then ya have assholes like the AP and Fox news.

Meh, the papers did it to themselves, the fucking internet ain't killing them.
When was the last time you saw a breaking story like the Love Canal or Watergate get a scoop on the front page of a fucking newspaper?
