I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

Peak Oil My Ass Some Will Say

Always get a kick out of the naysayers explaining the opposite of reality when it come to a finite resource. The nutters will probably be busy this week if this gathering receives any exposure nationally.

The world is running out of oil faster than society suspects, and last year's $4.11 gasoline spike was just a bitter hint of the future, according to a "peak oil" theory whose key proponents will gather in Denver this week. Though peak-oil theorists prompt scorn from many in the petroleum industry-- ---

Theory my ass and once again we see this mentality played out making something that is a fact into something that may or may not be. No wonder so many are so fucking stupid.

This group offers sound ideas for the future but take it to the bank that in this fucked up political atmosphere not much if anything will be done to address the future needs of our country.

  1. When I see all these flat roofed buildings in towns and cities, I wonder why there aren't solar panels covering the roof. We need alternative energy and we need it now.

  2. Somehow I get the feeling that our paltry 300 million population will be trumped by India and China's.

  3. Many politicians and people we see on tv and in print make decisions daily that are considered in the context of how these decisions will effect their lives for their well being today and until they die. No consideration of how these present day decisions effect either their children or ours is part of the equation.

The people who lived here, North America, were right in their belief that we owe it to future generations to leave this earth much like we found it when we were born and we are digging, drilling and cutting down the sustainability of this planet's future residents.

Peak oil? Who cares? We all know that it takes millions of years to make the stuff and we certainly don't have enough to last a million years so lets use what we do have sparingly.

    Common sense?

Yeah, Google Thom Hartman's, the commons, he's been speaking about this for years.

  4. You're all correct but it all goes back to politicians who sell out to the corporations. We might have a very slim chance of changing things for the better if money was removed from the process but that is not going to happen and that's why I have that really good piss poor attitude.

  5. Keep that really piss poor attitude, OTC. We may all get a peek at he future if continue to push Iran, keep trying to overthrow Chavez and his allies in S. America, etc. Thw world is telling us no more pillaging so our status quo is happy. We could employ millions in a war on wasteful energy practises but we'd rather fight in distant lands and liberate others' resources than change.
