I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

It's So Easy To Get Hurt

We had ice fall on us today from an ice dam we have removed for about the last ten years. I just drew a tiny bit of hurt but my partner took a bunch. We changed the way we had been doing it at my request.

We would have been okay but almost the whole length of the dam fell something that has never happened before.

Missed this by a mile and if I'm around next year and it needs to be done
again which it will this will never happen again. One of the issues many face when you live in snow country.

As is his will cost $400 easy not to mention the time. Click on the picture and look at the hood.

This is dangerous doing these things. Not this year but someone and it's not me in this picture have to go up and clear the fresh air and exhaust vent that gets covered in snow so the furnace continues to function

Last year about this time and not going to dig up bad memories posted here but I hurt myself and was very lucky to be able to walk away from what happened. My boss was driving down the road and saw it happen and thought I was probably dead. But he's still here and can't tell you how fast this shit can reach out and kick your butt.

I am going to make a point and a commitment from here on out in the time I have left in this type of work environment to take just a little bit more time to evaluate what needs to be done and how it will get done.

Over the years there have been no serious accidents of any kind in what is a inherently dangerous environment.

  1. Always love to see building in snow country designed by architects that reside in the city and have no idea of the actual environment that the building reside in. Where I lived in Vermont the condo collection next door had 2 guys on full time in the winter clearing snow and ice fron the valleys of the roofs. Betcha that hooanit gonna be cheap, I'd guess $450.00 without the decals.

  2. Getting 10% off and even at that without shipping the hood is $312 alone plus there's other stuff involved as well. It's a bunch no matter what.

  3. sorry to see that. hope your partner is OK. I have the same problems you do. I think(but dont know)that you are too old to be doing that type of snow removal. Be safe FLY, Mr. Danger is always lurking

  4. Glad you weren't seriously hurt - and hate to hear your co-worker was. Sounds like you had a bit of luck on your side. Some of those chunks look to be damned heavy.

  5. They were jeg and even though one of the places he got hit was the top of his forehead it still gave him a black eye. Like I say from now on out put a bit more thought into things.
