I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

What's This Mean

Back in the early 90's when these pictures of pictures were taken Phil and I were camping in Hovenweep and hiking the four mile trail to the Holly Group as it's called. I had been disenchanted for a period and asked my friend to explain what "The Contract with America " was all about. He did and I felt it had been just fine that there had been little attention paid to it by my part.

Now almost 20 years later this same player who should not be given the time of day is Still around.

What's this all mean outside of the fact we're so screwed??

ABSOLUTELY  NOTHING

  1. One of my favorite songs from that era. My son, Coleman, was lulled to sleep by his dad singing this song and dancing around the living room. I raised a quiet revolutionary of sorts.

I'm tired of being angry, it serves no one and solves nothing in and of itself, and there are plenty of well-informed people speaking out on our behalf, so this is my take on it. The government isn't going to change, at least not in our lifetime, and so we witness as we choose, but take care of our individual lives, and as stated in the documentary, Escape from Suburbia, provide our own hope through the choices we make. Live for the land, pay allegiance to it, to the beauty found in the world of nature, and nurture friendships that understand what matters most. Let the rest go....

Speak out if you feel led to do so, but tell us about your life there among such beauty, let us be nourished by that. The more we express the good, perhaps it will eventually outweigh the other. If not in the world, certainly in our own lives.

  2. I limit my explosions to the blog now, and dealing with other Ohioans ready to get rid of Czar Kashitch I. Other than in those venues I seldom mention politics. Unless I hear right wing claptrap, which I step up to correct no matter where I may be.

  3. Thank you for your wise thoughts Teresa and never could I argue against such logic. I've been thinking about this a bunch. I have yet to read much at all about politics but I suppose I will eventually reenter that realm a bit because one does have to stay at least a little bit informed. You are wise my friend!

Yes JR there are times certain things cannot be left as if nothing happened or was said. Like a war for lies and yes I will remain angry about such things as that.

  4. I forgot to add I can't even read what my friends are posting as I'll be drawn back into someplace I don't want to be right now.

  5. Hovenweep was probably an appropriate place to ask the question. I love that site, partly because it's apparent it was the 'frontier' of the folks who mostly didn't design for defense further south. But for all their protecting their borders [or whatever they were doing at Hovenweep] it all slipped apart behind them, from the inside. Hovenweep wasn't occupied much more than a decade after that civil war started.

I've never before wondered before whether the carnage reached Hovenweep, or whether they just evacuated when everything behind them imploded. The [mainly undocumented] sites I've come across don't leave much room for doubt about the strong feelings of at least one side about the other.
