This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

I Am/TheyAren't/And They Won't

bama says -

Americans need to be ready to "pay their fair share" to narrow the deficit, previewing his proposals to Congress that are expected to include more taxes on the rich.

That's expected from this man and I expect as usual the rich will pay little if any more than they do now.  And there is no mention of corporations.

Then there's this -

The White House has conducted a regulatory overhaul to eliminate old and overlapping rules across U.S. government agencies. It was broadly welcomed by the private sector including major groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

If it good for the Chamber then only a dummy can't understand who this won't be good for.

We're so screwed.

  4. What I never understood about trying to please the chamber fatcats is that unless you're a republican they're not going to vote for you no matter what.

Us workin folk need a president on our side for a change.

  5. Love that pic at the top, all those folds. Got me trying to remember what they call those things.

Ah well, amigo. For anything to happen the Chamber of Commerce wouldn't like would require all the DC hired help to be willing to vote for it. Not a likely scenario. Have a great one. Old Jules

  6. WM/Truth & Jules - The chamber is out of control and has been for some time. They are terrorists against "We the People". But only a few call them out for sticking their noses where it shouldn't be.

Jules that picture was taken in the parking lot of Arrowhead Golf Course in Littleton,Co. Where I worked in 1981. These rock are now a state park called "Roxborough State Park"

There are four formations of similar type stretching along the front range. The first is Red Rocks outside Golden that maybe you've heard of. The place where concerts are held. Possibly one of the best venues anywhere. Second is Roxborough then Perry Park 10-15 miles south. The last is Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.

These rocks can change color dramatically given the light conditions. They are actually quite red something I was not able to capture cuz they weren't red when I took this.

    Have a good one guys!!

  7. Anything the CoC likes means it's a bad thing for employees or people that like to breathe, drink clean water or have ground that isn't poisoned.

  8. The "US" Chamber of Commerce needs to have its officers rounded up and tried for sedition. They are foreign moles, and their only task is to gut the American commons.
