I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

A Deer Is Bad Enough

A cow is much worse and a buffalo has to be way bad. Round these damn things up.

This was a very good Suby. Nailed a mule deer buck 4:30 in the afternoon coming home in a stretch of road called "Deer Park".
This was a huge hit dead on at 45-50mph. Pieces flying off like you wouldn't believe and it could not make it the few miles home. It was totaled.
UPDATE: This was some time ago.

Just saying and I wonder if anyone has been hurt. You sure as hell don't want to hit anything at 75mph let alone a buffalo. They must be the biggest animals out there.

  2. No kidding. There's little in this piece but I find it a bit odd and wonder. 10???? Different times. What.

  3. This makes me mad. Why were they on the loose? Buffalo are slow moving and rather large. How could you hit one? It's not like they would dart unexpectedly from a ditch. This sickens me. I Love buffalo maybe more than people. Does that make me a bad person?

    Don't answer that.

  4. Aw ca'mon Fly, that'll buff right out. Seriously though, I know of several salvage yards in Vermont that could supply everything to get 'er going again for less than $500.

  5. I could never come close at first understanding the reason why so many drivers hit porcupines. Although I never got one and that was just luck. The answer became obvious. You just can't seem them at night. I bet buffalo are about the same. It's too late when you see them. This annoys me too.

  6. It's been a long time ago Russ and I made out real good actually. I did fix one here in this series of pictures. This guy paid dearly for being a dufus. In the process left in the fender a really nice 1/4 in" ratchet. Of course it doesn't snow where you live.

  7. When I drove through Colorado 2 years ago I was really impressed with the deer crossing facilities on the freeway, little ramps where the deer could get off the road and be on their way, rather than run up and down an impenetrable wall looking for the exit. The worst place I've seen for deer is Kentucky, where I saw at least 20 freshly dead ones on the side of the road, spread out for 50 miles. Lots of dead coyotes there too. The only way most people in California see wildlife is dead on the road. I hate that. Except for raccoons. Any dead raccoons within 2 miles of my house is a good thing.

  8. Cool header... How in the world does one hit a buffalo??? what, like 1500/2000lbs??? I can understand hitting a deer, they dart. But a buffalo??? Agree with Jan, about raccoons and will add possum to the list. I've got a huge possum that comes by during the night and my Sophie thinks she can take it. That things gotta be 30 pounds.

    1. This must be happening at night.

You could sell tickets to a dog possum tussle.

  10. Sorry to hear about your sube. Bad luck. Hope you're not hurt.
Buffs don't reflect light well - thus hard to see at night. And for you folks who think they're slow, you've been ill-informed.
