This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Pentagon Changes Army's Training Goals

I find this interesting. I just wonder who they think will engage them in "large-unit" engagements. Although I do not agree with with the majority of this country's budget used for the military I acknowledge we can and should be able to beat anyone out there in open engagements.

Window-rattling shellfire on Fort Carson's training range will be heard more often in the future as the Army shifts its training goals back to large-unit operations with artillery, armor and helicopter support. "Our training is shifting away from counter-insurgency and back into more direct action,"

I occasionally can actually hear explosions from Fort Carson maybe 45 away as the crow flies. Then there is the Pinyon Canyon(and they want much more) training site not too far to the SE. There is a fair amount of military air traffic and vehicles on the interstate going to and from these two places. I do enjoy seeing big planes flying low btw.

This fellow in the article goes on to say - "We're going to be noisier in the future,". I say kiss my ass you smug bastard!

    1. Don't see those often and they're generally kicking ass and fairly high but very loud even at distance.

    1. The congress has ordered more tanks, against the Pentagons wishes. The Generals also are wondering where it is we will be in a land battle against thousands of tanks and cannon. The congress still wants to fight WWII.

    2. Didn't notice. You would not believe my mistakes and I can't see them until later most of the time.

In respect to your comment we must keep the 1% happy I guess.

  3. They need their large unit operations because real generals don't command small units in itty-bitty battles.

  4. They're preparing for the invasion of North Korea. Or Iran. Neither of which would be the pushover that Iraq or Afghanistan was. Just sayin'. It's gonna happen (Iran in particular). Obama ain't gonna be Preznit forever, and once a neo-con gets back into office... well. The military is gonna be prepared, yo.

  5. I'm slipping as troop deaths have diminished recently. They want to shoot sooo badly and I forgot how much we hate these other country's and love to shoot. And they will. It's nice to not have our guys dieing everyday.
