This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Who Gave The Pass

I have a good idea how all this developed but it's just one example I want to touch on.

It's when cops kill with massive barrages of bullets when a person who without question in many cases faces difficulties in life "LUNGES" at the badges with "a knife".

Many times these human beings are a safe distance away from the ones with the guns. Call me a dummy for never understanding or in anyway condoning the actions of these killers because they feel "THREATENED".

Who gave these killers the right to life and death in situations like this. Sure as hell not me. When you do not have to kill but do you are nothing but a cold blooded killer and that is exactly what police in this country have become no matter what others say.

Then bunches of other badges show up and they all stand around with their thumbs up their asses looking - add your own word for that.

These people with a badge/gun and and license to kill are totally out of control.

Who gave these killer bastards this power knowing they are never going to be held accountable.

I am soooo tired of all this. I'm gonna go look for a whale.

  1. They drdss them up like soldirrs give them surplus military equipment of course they act like they're storming Fallujah. I just read about one department that refers to the precinct as a forward operating base.

  2. That's the way they look at it too. We ARE THE ENEMY. It's true.

Niece's hubby was a door kicker inner while in Irak. Gonna be a Cornfield State Trooper. 6 months of basic training.

Can you spell ZOMBIE. Thank Fela for that.

  3. I've mentioned the Tueller Drill before. A knife is a deadly weapon. There have been multiple mass murders in Japan done with knives. If someone is coming towards a cop with a knife in hand, I have no problem with the cop dropping that person, regardless of whether that person is crazy or not. Being a cop is supposed to be dangerous, but it isn't supposed to be suicide.

That said, I absolutely agree that our police officers seem to be completely out of control today. The number of *completely unarmed* people that they've been killing lately, ranging from little kids to the fat black men in Ferguson and NYC that they recently killed, is starting to get depressing in its regularity. Cops are the real death panel today -- and funnily enough, the same people who were ranting about Obamacare death panels seem to be just fine with that. Funny, huh?

  4. Knives and swords are part of japan's culture and there is a decent chance some of these characters know how to use them. A fellow was just shot and killed in Hollywood yesterday with a knife that was not very big. Just don't think they have to shoot to kill all the time.

Ironically funny in a way yes. They loved the thought of those death panels they surely did.

  5. If you're going to shoot, shoot to kill. That shoot to wound bullshit only works in Hollywood. When you're amped up on adrenalin hitting the target at all is hard enough when you're aiming at center of mass, nobody in the real world could shoot a knife out of someone's hand.

One of the massacres in Japan was committed with an ordinary kitchen butcher knife by someone who had absolutely no training at all. I've also read the results of an experiment done with knife disarms at a MMA meet-up. Many of the MMA instructors there were claiming that they had knife disarms that actually worked. This dude challenged them to pick any girl out of the audience they wanted, and he'd show them they were wrong. So they picked out a random girl, dude gave her 30 seconds of whispered instruction that basically said keep the "knife" moving as fast as possible and stab the SOB all over like a crazy person, and handed her a foam paintbrush saturated with red paintball paint. Then directed the MMA legend-in-his-own mind to disarm her before she "killed" him with her "knife". They always managed to eventually disarm her, but usually looked like billboards painted red at the end of the exercise, and dude would take one look and say "congratulations, you're busily bleeding out on the side of the street from two nicked arteries. You've been killed by a 15 year old girl." They don't take that challenge from him anymore :).

A street cop isn't going to do better against a knife-wielding maniac than these guys. Just sayin'. There's definitely cops who are trigger happy and shoot when they don't need to, but knives are no joking matter. Ex-Marine bar brawler I once knew enjoyed going to bars and getting into fights, said it was all good fun, but a knife came out shit got serious 'cause that meant someone wanted someone else dead. Just how that shit works.

  6. And BTW, reason I harp on this so much is 'cause if you have a gun for self defense and you're not willing to use it if someone with a knife comes at you, there's a damn good chance you're going to end up dead. Just sayin'.
