The Ancients Were Busy Here

Made it to the ledge I did not get to last weekend and this is some of the art I found. It was hard to get there and equally as hard taking pictures as the ledge is narrow. Actually came out at the top left the place I would not go down. It was very easy going up but looking back still was not interested in going down it.
The art was very well done as in this case.

Found three other places where there was art this ledge being the most significant. Be sure and click on this.

It was just as hard or harder to get good pictures but the rock art on the dark patina and with so much of it was way too cool to find!! This alone made the trip worthwhile.
At 11PM had to bail out of my campsite as it started to rain and I was in 20 miles in on an "impassable when wet" road. I did not want to find out but it turned out just fine at the other place I knew where to camp.

I have a video that shows this a bit better that I'll get up this evening.

  1. I thought it impossible to have too much fun, but you are clearly pushing the envelope. :) I've never seen rock art where it's on both the wall and the ledge beneath. Very interesting, Yowsa! Very cool. I usually have no problem working my way down into someplace, but going back up and looking behind me, usually at the canyon below, poses a problem. I think this would have been well worth it. Good times.

  2. I by no means am not an expert Teresa but like you I've never seen anything quite like this. Fun you betcha. It's going to be awhile before I get to explore some more. Need to take care of things here.

I will have a video up where you can see these better. Find myself not doing very well when I reach these places. Probably has something to do with being tired and when I look at the pictures I'm kind of disappointed but that's okay as it doesn't take away from the enjoyment. Not many have seen these either. Saw one set of footprints and they were very old.

Thank you for finding merit in what I put up!

  3. Great sites. Love that shaman with the bullseye and whatever that spear represents.

    Thanks for linking to this.

    Hope you're having a good'un amigo.

  4. I have one obstacle stabilized with a major one left and I'm working on that now. I'm breathing a bit easier.

I'm glad you enjoy this Jules. There's not too many who see these.
