I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

He Didn't Smell Any Sulphur

''It's time to have a true start of a new history, for there to be balance, that there's an end to the mechanisms of domination,'' Chávez said.

The wingers are going nutso about this for sure. I don't know what will come out of this but one thing for sure is that this is at least a start. We need to get along and work with our neighbors to the south.

A handshake instead of a threat-YES!!

  1. "Sincerity". Something that is refreshing to see. Chimpy's approach was, walk in and piss on thier leg. American diplomacy is getting for a makeover.

  2. The right wing-nuts are all up in arms about Obama smiling while shaking the hand of a socialist dictator. They seem to forget Nixon shaking the hand of Mao, or Nixon and Ford making nicey-nice with Breshnev, or Rumsfeld shaking hands with Sadam.

  3. I was very pleased with the Summit. I think this is the beginning of change in Latin America! I was out working in the garden but I just came in and the first BS I hear was those on the right saying how much Obama has endangered us because of this. Sick!

  5. Ya gotta admire Chavez for his chutzpah, if nothing else.
Giving away heating oill to needy Norte Americanos while Bush fucked the dog was a masterful stroke.

Obama would do well to stick out an arm of friendship before that area goes all apeshit over to the Russians, who are currently drooling in their plate and doing everything they can to curry favor in South America to get a toe hold on the vast mineral and petrochemical holdings down there.
I ain't all Hugsy Wugsy with the shit I see coming out of the Obama administration but relaxing the barriers with Cuba and acting like a fucking human being instead of a spoiled bitch dictator towards South America are positives in my book.

  6. We need history re-education in America at every level. Like Holocaust deniers we forget we tried to kill Chavez and overthrow his gov't twice. Guess what pilgrims- his elections(3) were and are cleaner than ours and he won by 63% last time. Chavez is proving he doesn't need us; we need his oil and nat. gas. Obama is ding what he has to, acknowledging the obvious: the world won't let him murder people for oil like Bushie did in Iraq. The right in this country are the corrupt dictators, exiled for the moment, who are trying to reinsert them-selves into the discussion by "red-baiting" the uninformed American voters. Don't fall for this "propoganda". All this says to me is Obama not going to use the CIA, just yet, to kill duly elected officials in Latin America who hold the royal flush: ENERGY!!
