I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

A Few From Yesterday

Yesterday was a beautiful day. The colors are almost at their peak maybe a couple more days. They're talking snow back in da Boat for next Friday. I'm not there. I am here now. That is a good thing for this guy. It's fantastic out. I have to unload some real heavy things like tool boxes. Think we're going to Pueblo to check a couple things out. New router and USB adapter install cd don't install but using an old router that actually reaches over to my place but comes and go. Can't use the desktop but that's just fine I got the time.

Yea it seems a bit barren out here compared to the drive through the mountains to get here but it's just as nice in it's own way and I like it. High country isn't far away at all. It's my home now.

  2. Home, sweet home.

Glad to see ya are happy bud.

I have been busier than a one legged man at an ass kicking contest for the last several months and ain't had time to stop by as much as I would like. Got married in the middle of it all and just started a new job ten minutes from the Weasel Den.
Going to be moving me and the new wife to my folks place at the end of the month when they go to Arizona for six months.

Like I said, glad to see you are fairly settled in and happy.

  3. Is this where you live?

The open spaces, light and mountains are stunning.

I could move there. How much does land go for?

  4. It was another great day. Got my ride unloaded and ran up to Pueblo and looked at a couple RV's. Tomorrow will get in the mode of not going anywhere and staying home.

For window pictures not too bad. I didn't stop much as it was kinda business and my ride was very heavy but still worked well. Got 26 and that was through mountains.

To all thank you but to Christopher a bit more for your query.

This area is a bit unique in some ways. Most of the pictures were taken north and west of where I live. For instance it's 32 miles to the saddle of the Spanish Peaks. Raw land is 500 an acre + or -. In the county seat of Hueferno County which is Walsenburg a real nice house is less than a 100K. Retiree's drive what there is of the real estate market. I'm a bit out of touch and will be paying much more attention now. I know Monday is the last day to register to vote so I will be going to town. 15 miles or so.

My brother has a hose for sale. If it were in Santa Fe it's a 400k job. Here it's a 100. 400 might be a stretch but it'd be a bunch. Completely remodeled and it's cool. Haven't even seen it since it's been finished. Hope that helps.

  5. Your comments about SF are right on, I could never have afforded what I have now, if I was still there. I love that type of view, where you have the front range and then the mountains as backdrop. Really peaceful country.

    Welcome Home! :)

  7. I showed this to my partner and his question was, "Where is the nearest and largest town where I can find a job as an RN?"

It looks like Grand Junction, CO is the closest?

Where we now live (Southern California), while many fun things to do, it is so astonishingly over run with people. You can't imagine freeway traffic jams at 10PM.

I swear. I wonder sometimes hos the sheer weight of so many millions of people don't make the region sink into the Pacific ocean.

  8. You're in the wrong part of the state kinda. From where the first picture was taken to the last is 300 miles. Around here it would be Pueblo,Walsenburg and Trinidad. Even in Walsenburg where there are no jobs there are for people in health care.

And I'm looking out side from two directions at thousands of acres and I do not see a building. There's a few out there some kinda close. You would possibly feel lonely at first.
