Outta Here

This time it's like really "Outta Here". Fact of the matter is since I returned from West Africa a long long time ago I have been a lot of places but not really that far and never left the States except to cross over into Mexico for a bit now and then back when it was much safer.

Later this morning will get on a big bird something not done in quite awhile as well and end up in Costa Rica this evening long about 7:30.

Not much else to say except I will be a good boy when I have to remove my footwear. I expect to be making some posts - how many or often not sure about.

I have voted of course and will be paying close attention to the results of the election.

So I'm outta here for now but will be bok. Best to everyone who comes by. Comments not necessary.

Going to Wyoooming aka Cheney Land to do a bit of visiting and some smooth surface riding in Casper. I always get treated sooo well and appreciate that a great deal.

Not much going on. It actually rained 4 tenths last evening. That's huge when there has been nothing.

It's time to get away for a bit. Headed over to the San Luis Valley/Alamosa area which isn't that far away. 45 miles due west.  Never really been inside the park nor stayed there. If there aren't too many people I will spend the night now that they let me in free and give 50% off on camping.

Thinking too that Taos should be visited as well. Never spent much time there either and it's actually closer than Denver. Just going and see what happens and get some bike riding in too.

It has been warm and dangerous in respect to fire danger. Saw this morning Colorado's snow pack is at 2% of normal. This is not good at all.

To the cornfield via Kansas and Missouri to hang out along the good old Mississippi where there is some old and very interesting architecture and history.

Although the drive is questionable right now this is all new in respect to after 32 years of making trips like this - this time is different because all those times before there was a very limited time frame because you always had to come back. Not this time and that's what I find interesting. Too bad you gotta be old in most cases to be able to do so.

I hope to do some of the following -

eat fish
catch some fish to eat
Ride my bike around these old river towns.
Quincy will be one where the old big houses are.
Warsaw and Keokuk in more depth.
Eat fish
Visit
Nauvoo even though I've been around the restored Mormon areas a number of times it's still a blast and the sunken garden dedicated to women is really cool. Everywhere picture opportunity's. Never explored Nauvoo and hope to. I know don't sign the book. Can someone call ahead and get me into the Temple?
I want to hunt and find what looks to be fairly straightforward to do - Keokuk geodes.

From there the further most SE reaches of the state to damn near the very opposite part of Iowa stopping at the real corn field on the way. There's two questions that will be answered quite a few times. "When did you get in and how long ya here for?? While there I hope to -

Eat a little bit more fish anyway
Give as many as I can a ration of shit first before they give it to me

I'd like to see what could be caught in the rivers with just a worm and sinker.

May go visit this fellow who lives in Colorado but will be visiting his folks who are about a hundred and forty or so some 80 miles away. We have golfed together.  Hope to get fed.

Catch some maybe
See what a worm will get you off the dock and it could be damn near anything.
Ride around the lake where possible boat and bike. These lakes are very cool.

The sun is just about ready to peak over the bluff and I'm loaded up and headed over to the Cortez area to explore some things I saw last year about this time. The next few days are going to be really nice.

Maybe I will get lucky and find some early colors of some sort. In any case will not be around for at least a week anyway.

Another New One

And they're going fast. If there was a wish it would be that anyone who comes by here could be assured of a better year than last. And in addition those who have been so adversely affected on no part of their own by the greedy and the powerful double better new year.

Yes it's a new year and the start of the fourth month of a new life for me. Also within the hour it will be the start of a new adventure hopefully in a new camper thingy. So I'm outta here and in all seriousness I don't know where this may lead or for how long but we're going to give it a try. South is the starting direction. Posting here - probably not much.

For Two Mornings And I'm Outta Here

There's a post below where I said the weather broke. For two mornings and then in the afternoon  it turned to shit. That was Monday and Tuesday. The next two were shitty all day barely reaching 50 on one. Today the sun is out and it's very nice and will remain like this for several days for sure.

I'm outta here after work because of the picture below because of the two round heads on the left that I did not see when I took it. I have to see them again and try to get to the ledge I could not reach last weekend. So it's out to Utah after work.

Here there are no leaves no flowers and pretty much just the remnants of winter. I'll go where there's a chance of some adventure and possibility of finding things that are not around these parts. It's going to be 80. Bring it on and have a fine one all of you.
