I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.

From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.

Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.

You bastards!

Plenty Sphinx Moths

Have never been around so many of these at one time. It was nice to see.

  4. Beautiful creatures ... and flowers, too! The way they hover on your video I can see why they're sometimes called the Hummingbird Moth.
Great header shot, Tom. Hope you are well .......

    1. Thanks for that bj! It's all pretty good and hopefully the same for you. I will add that I knew that down the line I was going to probably have to have something done with my right knee. A repetitive thing from operating certain equipment we had at the golf course. I tweaked it accidentally several weeks ago when I jumped up very quickly. It is now an issue. I can do it all and for a bunch buuuuut have to be constantly aware. sonnybitch. Do not think it will get much better. Still very lucky. Let's enjoy these nice days coming up for sure my friend!

  5. I love these guys - no at all intimidated by a person's hand and will gladly land on it. Cool little animals.

An interesting fact I hadn't known until a few years ago - of the species in which moths and butterflies exist, moths are far more colorful than butterflies.

The Sphinx, Cecropia, Emperor, Luna, Silk, Black Witch, Elephant Hawk, etc...... are stunning to see. For most of my life, I assumed the drab color was indicative of moths.

    1. Thanks for that boomer! Haven't seen anything unusual lately. Patiently waiting for the tarantula migration to begin which will happen very soon. There can be thousands and they are black and BIG!

I've not seen them up close before and this is gonna be good.
