This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Crazy Religious Kooks Back In The Cornfield

The whole place if full of god lovers of all sorts but this poll indicates they really would like to shoot over anything else you can damn well bet on it. Of course they love their Limbo's and Shameity's back there a whole bunch. I'm sure the non existent cloud being they wail to every Sunday is very proud of his followers.

  1. Is "The Messenger," which published the poll, a sectarian rag? Looks like it to me: "Jewish?" If so the replies to the poll would be no particular surprise. Even if it is stupid/dumb/stupid....

  2. Our "special relationship" with Isreal is honey for the evangelical bees and a proven money-maker for the pols of both parties. AIPAC has incredible power considering the number of Jewish voters in this country. No other religion comes close and with their alliance to evangelical/fundamentalist types they block meaningful progress in the Middle East. It is the money these groups raise thru their temples and churches that scares the pols. What scares the permanent gov't are the nukes we helped them develop and the knowledge the will use them!!! For 35 yrs of my life I've felt this mess required Isreal to admiit they are not the only chosen people at the table; this has not happened. I'm no friend of Iran/Muslim/Arabs but they are the red-headed stepchild who is now on the brink of using the gun he found under his dad's bed. Can you really blame him for waving it around the room and threatening the adults after all the beatings they administered.

  4. The military industrial business that Eisenhower warned has had, and will continue to have many unintended consequences. They have promoted the Pentagons attitude of roaming the world looking for a fight since the sixties and they have made the bed that the United States must now lie in.

Most likely Iran is seeking atomic status based upon their distrust of the western world and rightly so. We have let our government abuse power, be it military or economic to enrich those profit ahead of our nations security. It is understandable that the abused strike back.

We have squandered our nations revenues on beating up any that oppose whatever the and whomever opposed the profit taking of the oil companies, arms manufacturers or the many corporations who profit on war.

    Everything has consequences.
