This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Reasons For Not Releasing Torture Photo's Is Pure Horse Shit

The main one - concern the images could ignite a backlash against U.S. troops.

But Obama shifted gears after senior military commanders and some members of Congress expressed misgivings

Don't shit yourselves kiddies as there's more going on here for damn sure. There are two reasons for this shift of position.

The first is not to protect our troops but to protect the sonsofbitches that are responsible and to stop even more outrage here and the increasing calls for accountability.

The second is that our Prez got a visit not only from generals and congress whores but others as well telling him just what the fuck he was going to do. See the two posts below this.

What the hell is coming next. And once again there is not a thing that will happen to those that have raped the Constitution as the Consortium of Evil will have no such thing!

  1. I'm going out on a limb here, but I believe that Barack is letting this whole thing play out so that there is a ground swell and in the end he has no choice but to deal with it. In the end he will claim that there was overwhelming national support for prosecution of those involved. He's dealt a hand every day and he must play the cards he's dealt. If he hits the inside straight he'll go for prosecution of those involved with much popular support.

  2. The war coverup is on full throttle, hell bent for election, so to speak. Obama has deeply disappointed and is now "damaged goods" to true progressives. As a member of the ACLU this especially galling and disturbing since Obama taught Constitutional Law to a new generation not schooled in the criminality and corruption of Viet Nam, The Pentagon Papers and Nixon era "dirty tricks." If sunlight is the best disinfectant in politics we are now under ominous skies, indeed. It is very, very difficult to defend the indefensible but Barack is trying, unfortunately. Damn it all, anyway!!! This stinks !!!!

  3. And it could play out like that Russ. Whatever had been going on with the Bushes continues today. Obama was told what to say and he said it. I know how bad that sounds but years of no accountability continueing into a new adminstration with the same shit just does not add up with the reality. When's rover and miers coming in to chat-pretty soon I suppose. Maybe leahy's angry letter is already on it's way to teach them a lesson.

  4. The same bunch of Rat Fuckers are still in the position to put the scare into Obama, wh I am afraid, has not quite got his Presidential Nuts droppe3d yet.

I figured out he was not a progressive long ago but now I am thinking he needs top kick some advisors in the ass and get some new ones.

BushCo 2.0 is pissing me the fuck off.

  5. Just a note here-- A $54 billion dollar request is in the "black hole" we call the combined dept.s of the CIA, NSA, DOD, etc is in this years appropriations bill. If my math's correct that =s 163.00 for every man, woman and child in the USofA. That's for 1yr, folks. This has nothing to do with the "known" requests in the regular "published" budget. You could run Ariz. Colo. and Oregon for 2yrs entirely, without any type of taxes, with that kind of money. Do you really think these photos are why we have sworn enemies throughout the world? I think it's because we don't know what the fuck is being done in our name with our money. Everyone hates the ACLU until you need them. Fuck the nuance here, show the goddam photos.

  6. Like busted says, I aint seen sign of much balls on Obama yet. Suffice to say that he would not BE president if a LOT of high powered mucky-mucks didn't want him to be.

I get a lot of my news from online (foreign press is good), and MSNBC. I just saw Lieberman (I-Mushy) on the teevee jackin his jaws about how it is all in the past blah blah. He and those like him think it is just dandy to track down old Germans from the past, don't they?

Obama is NOT getting us out of Iraq, he has invited the HMO's to help with health care reform, said no to prosecution for war crimes, etc etc. Disapointed? Bet yer ass I am!

  7. I try not to guess what the real reasons might be, but the excuses given are utter nonsense. You can bet there's some ulterior motive, whether it's reluctance to take a stand or potential political advantage.

  8. The reasons to withhold the pictures is irrelevant. As long as these photos are available for court. That's all that matters.

Frankly, I don't want to see these pictures. I didn't want to see Saddam hang and I don't want to witness an execution. It's not necessary for the public to view these torture pictures.
