This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Happiness Is Having A New Gun

For the Army because what they have now just isn't killing it good enough.

“This is an historic event. We have not done a carbine competition in our lifetimes,” The Army has launched a dual strategy designed to give you a more accurate, durable and lethal weapon that will be the mainstay for the next 40 years.

I have to differ here on what's historic. Seems to me there's never been a problem killing the other side when needed. Not only those on the other side but mothers, children and other innocents as well.

Innocents-you know the ones that didn't do anything but yet they were killed. Maybe the guns wouldn't be wearing out if they weren't used for that.

Historically we are in the longest "Wars" since this nation was formed. For history's sake I'd like to see the people get their way and leave these places like all of us voted for.

But we love our guns and killing way too much to do that. Whore Beck says we are returning to the non-existent sky being who must love even more the same things because there ain't a fucking one of those slugs that showed up yesterday that calls for the withdrawal of our troops from our war theatres.

But they sure as hell would go along with the samo ya know ya see there as it becomes even clearer how screwed we really are.

  1. first off... DAMN, you've been on a serious tear lately... it's been a real pleasure reading the blog

secondly, we need to do more of this... calling out the tea baggers on their ideological and practical bullshit..

also... this post made me think of one of my favorite beatles songs

  2. Thank you for that Rev and it is mine as well and I have just included it on this post.

I don't have tv so I don't know how muck fight back there was yesterday and today over whore beck-probably not a whole hell of a lot.

  3. We have the longest wars in history now because we have designed wars that we cannot win. Wars use to consist of toppling governments. Not any more. Look at Afghanistan and Iraq. The traditional war in both countries was over within days. We should have packed up our shit and got out.

But no. We saw it as an opportunity to test new weapons, funnel billions of dollars to our war companies, and make our government benefactors millions, if not billions, of dollars in the process.

Oops, a few millions innocent civilians killed in the process. Well, there has to be some collateral damage. It can't be helped. We have to let the world know not to fuck with us.

Oh, by the way, how's that working out?

  4. Fly, new weapons are one of our favorite forms of corporate welfare.

  5. When do we get new guns? The only damn thing we get is less and the simple fucks on the other side think that's good for them. How fucked up is that.

  6. Yeah, the M-16 kills alright -- kills the GI expecting the POS to work when he needs it, that is. It's been known since Vietnam that the M-16 is an unreliable POS but rifles are a low-bucks weapon so our GIs have been stuck with it for over 40 years now. About friggin time the POS was replaced...
