The training will be attended by about 40 officers from the Steamboat, Oak Creek and Hayden police departments, Routt County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Forest Service.

Three days worth including "active-shooter scenarios". Classes in the morning and the other half of the training will involve practicing scenarios.

From the day to day doings of Ski Town USA. It must of been the scenario practice that covered pee recognition.

In the distance, a water war is taking place between two species of animals, one wild, one trespassing, both thirsty and struggling to survive. Squaring off on either side of a small muddy spring, a herd of elk and a band of feral horses stand their ground until spooked by curious humans and their approaching machine. Dubbed “trespass livestock” they've become tourists attractions and exhibit crafty behavior, figuring out how to open an ice machine to happily munch on a frozen treat, and breaking open water lines. They loiter wherever there's water, including near bathrooms and restaurants, and also at the treated outflow from septic ponds.

Wild horses have been a huge issue for some time and the piece above explains the dynamics. I want habitat resources to be there for the indigenous wildlife not for horses. It's been time for awhile to put this meat back on the table. Link

A Decent Chuckle

The only thing lacking here is that if all the motorcycles would have fallen over like dominos. Other than that it's got everything for more than one chuckle.

There will never be any chuckle videos here that show people obviously getting hurt badly. Mercan's find humor in that and there are a number of tb programs that do so and numerous other sources as well. This fellow in my opinion hurts himself at an acceptable level to show this but the fact of the matter he could have easily been killed at one point.

 It's just plain funny.

Cheezburger Cheezburger

Actually more like fish taco. In town there is one chain burger establishment. A while back went in and got myself a plain old cheezburger. I'll take it just the way it comes.

I will say that one tasted better than the other two major burger players but just like theirs got about half way and couldn't take anymore. Shit canned the rest.

So - - - this place here put fish taco's on the menu. I want fish most of the time but never get it much. Just a bit ago gave one a ride. Here it is just like it comes.

Wasn't bad necessarily but sure wasn't that good either and sure as hell wasn't worth $2.58. Buck ten maybe? Better than their burger because the whole thing got eaten but that ain't saying much.

Went from there directly across the street to this small office supply business run by this very nice lady to buy paper to write short letters to people and I ran across this.

 

I had just pulled out this Kente bag(link)to show a friend a day or so ago. Kente is West African cloth. Very special stuff. Mine is Ewe and the Wiki link speaks of Ashanti/Akan Kente. Bought the three pads of this she had.

This is what goes on in my world as things warm up and blossoms can be seen even if some are weeds. That and what the future may hold - hopefully anyway. Looking forward to all of it.
