And as it should be. The information reported after this happened indicated to me this prick was guilty as hell.
May he never be allowed wear a badge again and never be able to own a gun.
May he also receive the maximum sentence.
From the moment a photo of a
dead elk surfaced, the Boulder community has been captivated by the
animal's fate and the hunt for what really happened on Mapleton Hill on
Jan. 1, 2013.
After just a few hours of deliberation Tuesday, a Boulder County jury
came to the same conclusion investigators did: Then-police officer Sam
Carter plotted the kill and then used his badge to try to cover it up.Carter was found guilty on all nine counts — including four felonies — filed against him after a weeklong trial.
This makes me soooo mad!!! What a creep... Look at that beautiful animal. SOB...
ReplyDeleteOooh and I love photo. You got to Cimarron. Did you get to the old saloon & brothel???
Never saw a word about any saloon or brothel. What happened?
ReplyDeleteIt was just a few streets away from the hotel.
DeleteI did the walking tour on my bike and just reread the pamphlet and saw no mention of this. Missed something someplace. Pretty interesting all in all.
DeleteNow you know a photo, and the deed itself, is gonna outrage me!
ReplyDeleteIt was the bar where most of it occurred. This was a go to p[lace for quite a few known well icons of the West. It's just a 100 miles from here.
DeleteHe certainly seems to be posing in that photo, doesn't he? No more shocking or senseless to me than the ubër riche who 'trophy hunt' big cats, elephants, rhinos and such, but when a member of the community is murdered, like Big Boy, there, dood needs an ass whuppin' to go along with the weapons ban and jail time.
ReplyDeletePoetic justice
ReplyDeleteGlad for the jury, I never try to get out of jury duty, I want to set the innocent free and shut the door on the evil do'ers.
ReplyDeleteYes he's posing and as proud as a pig in shit for his big kill he had been fantasizing about for some time.
ReplyDeleteIt remains to be seen everyone if the judge steps up to the plate and gives this prick a sentence WE can be proud of.
Odds are he will not - I mean he has a badge and a gun and we all know most of the time these people are above the law unfortunately.
This is why they kill at will these days and are almost always exonerated. I stay so far away from these people I tell you.
Good for the jury! I hope the judge slams him a good one!!!

Good call on the part of the jury. If a police officer is willing to commit crimes such as this; as disgusting as this is, other crimes he may commit down the line may very well have been much worse.
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to pin on a badge you simply must behave with integrity and this guy has NONE
Awesome picture of the St James BTW - gorgeous building
ReplyDeleteThanks Boomer! I looked at all of them close just in case something else might have been in there.
DeleteA cop can't get away with killing an elk. It's not like he's an unarmed black guy or something.
