Meanwhile the price of propane back in the cornfield hit $5 a gallon yesterday. Last year at this time it was $1.39.  LINK

When I filled up about a month ago I paid $2.35 and the next day it was 2.50. Who know what it may be now and understand I live in one of the poorest counties in our nation. Back in Iowa there are literally billions floating around.

In addition with the latest increase in electric rates starting this month based on my usage for 12/13  it breaks down to this -

A 30% increase and a killowatt per hour rate of 25 cents per KWH.
 That's a fact and the kwh rate has got to be one of the highest in this country! And nobody gave a shit. Got shown the door at the local paper when I asked them to report what the true increase was to be rather than trumpeting the corporate line given to them and printed more than once of an increase of 9%. Was told "I'll print the same thing again. I'm here to make money."

I really don't give much of a shit anymore. Can't win even a little battle let alone one on the national front. If you care and try for some the beat downs can become a negative in your life.

Homeless and jobless people are coming to Pueblo because they can buy legal marijuana here, some homeless advocates said Monday.

It's just that simple. Hell they've "left jobs and housing behind to come to Colorado". The simple bitch went on to add this gem “And the last thing we need is all that media coverage telling people marijuana is available here,”

It's difficult reading this piece. I have to plead cornfield again because I just never have understood that homeless people with jobs have it so good they can just up and leave to come to Colorado where marijuana can be purchased legally by people who have reached the age of 21.

Rocky Mountain News Is History

Tomorrows paper will be the last in the 150 years it has been published. In some ways it's a bit sad but they shouldn't feel lonely as there will be more going broke just as they did.

But what I really think is tough fucking shit. One of the columnists did a piece blaming Craig's List for their demise. Well maybe that has had something to do with it but the bottom line most papers that have failed or are going to is that you fucked up big time and you deserve no less.

Yes there's an attitude here along with a memory like an elephant. Whether it's the Rocky or another every goddamn one of you banged the drums of war leading up to the invasion of Iraq even though there was ample evidence otherwise. Fuck you for what you did to my country by continually taking a centrist position on important issues and saying you did no wrong and that you are providing an important product that informs the public of the issues. Double fuck you!

Over the last eight years there have been any number of stories where you could have chosen reality over spin from those who were raping our country and the Constitution but no you picked the same road as always so I say don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out and don't forget a lot of the reason for your demise is because of the same attitude here.

Need A Newspaper

Denver — The E.W. Scripps Co. today announced that it is putting the Rocky Mountain News up for sale. The move comes as newspapers across the country are reeling from the worst advertising market in generations. Nationally, third-quarter newspaper advertising revenues plummeted 18 percent.

This was actually a half ass decent paper with a rich history. As like a lot of things these days no one is going to buy.
