Drive away like that???
The 23-year-old was recovering from a hit-and-run three days earlier that left her with a concussion, whiplash, three fractured vertebrae in her lower back, a fractured femur and a deep gash on her left thigh.
The good thing is they have arrested a 24 year old uncaring stupid little bitch for this crime. LINK
Is this type of reaction (running away) something that has gotten worse because of these dumb ass TB programs that show people doing the same all the time even though they seldom get away?
Another exceptional trait our society seems to have. Personally I could not leave someone hurt like that if it were me and I bet you couldn't either.

I drove past this between Salida and Cotopaxi on State Highway 50 in Colorado. I had to turn around and tell whoever that I stood with them totally assuming I was correct. I was and got the biggest hug of appreciation for doing so.
From my understanding, there are close to 3000 children being held around this country after being seized from their parents at the border.
Many will never see their Mom and Dad again because Republicans are totally evil.
You bastards!

There is no data for 014 when implemented on January 1, 2014. More than that -
Nationally, about 7.4 percent of people 12 and older reported monthly marijuana use. That’s an increase of about 4 percent.
Says 530,000 Coloradans a month partake. My money says there are plenty more than that. This is and has been America's drug of choice for decades. Finally some sanity entered the picture here and in Washington state but let's continue the myth that it's bad because - hey usage is up.

Non Responders
Mentioned before how outwardly friendly the locals have been here in Nagalito. Not just here but everywhere. Including of course the south side of Puerto Vallarta.
From store clerks to vendors on the street including walkers like myself you are likely to be greeted along with a wave and a smile if you don't get to it first. That includes the whole nine yards men, women young and old and the kids as well.
Had no clue it would be like this and I find it to be a very nice part of life that is different back "home". People do a pretty good job of it all in all but not like here.
In the month I have been here there have been four people who have not responded to being greeted. All have been gringos. It's true. Any more I say nothing to what is obvious as I am myself a gringo. Just saying!
Still no whale.

Another Type Of Torture Used Here Across The Country
Glad the choice was made some time ago to not listen to what comes over the tube or to have a tube and pay for the shit besides. One does not need to as you pretty much know what's going to come out of their mouths on most issues whether from the right or the left. As expected the Right loves it's torture along with many Dims.
What the hell else they gonna say anyway - that it's wrong now? No way of course and pretty much Merka going right along with them.
Our jails have thousands and thousands of innocents in them because people confessed to crimes they did NOT commit just to have the mental torture and threats being being used on them go away. That is torture too and has been going on forever in the name of the law.
What makes it even worse is that these badge bastards many times know people are innocent and still charge them.
Very exceptional.
Not thinking about any of this crap. Gonna go look for my first whale and a decent picture or two if I'm lucky.

Who Gave The Pass
I have a good idea how all this developed but it's just one example I want to touch on.
It's when cops kill with massive barrages of bullets when a person who without question in many cases faces difficulties in life "LUNGES" at the badges with "a knife".
Many times these human beings are a safe distance away from the ones with the guns. Call me a dummy for never understanding or in anyway condoning the actions of these killers because they feel "THREATENED".
Who gave these killers the right to life and death in situations like this. Sure as hell not me. When you do not have to kill but do you are nothing but a cold blooded killer and that is exactly what police in this country have become no matter what others say.
Then bunches of other badges show up and they all stand around with their thumbs up their asses looking - add your own word for that.
These people with a badge/gun and and license to kill are totally out of control.
Who gave these killer bastards this power knowing they are never going to be held accountable.
I am soooo tired of all this. I'm gonna go look for a whale.

Don't Think
Too much anyway. It's been awhile and with the year coming to a close want to acknowledge that there is still attention from this guy about troops and troop deaths in Afghanistan. Three in November same as last year.
Glanced and saw a number of 24,000 still in country. Right or wrong don't know.
I thought they were all supposed to be gone end of 2014. Don't think!
Fact of the matter is veeeery few give a shit.

Happy Thankgiving
Enjoy the day your family and friends and chow down heartily on that bird and every thing else on the table and laugh a lot along the way!!!
No turkey here and I'm fine with that. I have been eating fresh shrimp and red snapper bought in Puerto Vallarta. I am thankful for that. A rather simple thing but those of you who come around know that getting the chance at doing so was huge for me. I am very thankful for that as well.
Thankful I am able to even have a chance at living life in a different environment albeit simplistic never really wanted much more ever.
Thanks for coming by and have a good one!!! I'm gonna stroll down to the ocean and look for my first whale. Never have seen one and they've been around. I wonder if they'd go after a fly.

Around Town
El Nagalito is a village and small. Locals and expats. Very quiet. A couple places to pick up a bite to eat and basic food and other grocery's. Below is fish of some sort - spaghetti - and a small salad. A bottle of water was 6 pesos and the total was 46 pesos. I left a 50 which is $3.60. Wasn't the best but it was filling and had a piece of fish left over.
Meet "Hitler". He's a local and a real good pooch.
Yesterday for $8.46 I got two bus rides - the meal above - a real decent pineapple a couple tomatoes and bananas and a small loaf of bread. Not too bad.

A Bit Of Life In El Nagalito
Yesterday got on the bus and went south a few miles and bought some fresh caught fish. Not quite sure what they are as Spanish is not good. What I can say is three fish cost 30 pesos or about $2.10 and it was a treat having a couple so far.
It just beautiful here and the greenery is dense and hill/mountains go straight up. You would not believe how nice the locals are. That's a treat too.

Somewhere Else
And that is close to the pin in the picture in a small town south of Puerto Vallarta named El Nagalito.
Walked down to the ocean a half mile away and this is what it looked like. The hill/mountains are steep and the trees and particularly the palms are thick and just plain huge. Pretty impressive actually.
Internet has been real slow so it will be difficult possibly to put many pictures up. It's quiet and everyone is totally friendly. The little I was in PV it seemed like a vibrant city with something for everyone.
Have a good one!

If You Think He's A Real Special One
You are wrong.
Pope says assisted suicide is a "sin against God"
If one thinks change will be made within the church that many catholics want you will be wrong again.
The Poop himself should reflect a bit on what compassion means in matters that are none of his or the place he works for business.
The Poop and all the rest like him can kiss my ass.

Why Some Leave
Maybe because enjoying warm weather is just plain over and done with. 10° is a tough number as well.
Needs to be said "think they need to leave". Don't think too much Fly you just get yourself in trouble.
Struggling to be positive the bright side since the sun is gone has been gone and won't be seen much is the wind hasn't been blowing.

He was in town and I noticed for the first time not that it is, that the P word is being floated around. Of course it is.
They won't hardly have to work at this. The nation has been more than willing to be stupefied down that they would be proud to show the depth of that by electing the third bush bastard. Watch it happen! The numbers are not looking good for the Dims here in Colorado.

Shaking My Head/Not Worth Thinking About Too Much
In particular this one that the Denver Whore Post supports zygote crazy man for senator over entrenched Dim Udall. How can educated people take that position and by doing so they also support making abortion illegal? That's where this man and people and papers or what have you who support him are at - it's just that simple. Colorado showing it's own brand of exceptionalism and it's hardly worth giving a shit about because this is what just as many want as those who do not. Actually that sucks a hind teat.
LOCALLY
Stopped and read the two local papers and learned the following. Not bitching/complaining/judging or a damn thing - just saying. This in a town of 3000.
Two cases didn't get to court but will. One for child abuse resulting in death. The other child sexual abuse by a person of trust in this case the father.
Unfortunately and sadly after a nine month investigation a well know local man and business person was arrested for the bludgeoning killing of his wife.
At the city council meeting a resident complained about the police not enforcing a restraining order. Turns out they had and put the offender in jail. He was released because the jail was full and they had to make room for a more of a nasty bastard than him or maybe it was a her. Who knows - don't make a shit bit of difference.
In a bit going to Pueblo to buy meat basically as again just a few days ago brought home for maybe the 5th time in a year tainted meat. The way it is and has been for a long time and we're not talking just meat.
Weather is great and it's very pretty out with the trees changing and the backdrop of several mountain ranges topped off with the white stuff. It will hit 80 and time for shorts now. Life is pretty decent even with the bull shit. Note the header picture.
Have a good one !!!

OH MY !!
Happened night before last. Not unusual by any means to get a dusting as it's described - - - - but it's a reminder of what's coming sooner than later.
Personally I's rather have taken a picture this morning of a banana tree.
From where the picture was taken it's 92 miles as the crow flies to Taos directly over the west Spanish Peak.

Bout Time
That I produced/put a post up or something like that. My friend Linda told me she was linking to here in her post tomorrow so I just can't have her readers come by and see an old post.
These picture have been sitting around in draft for awhile so I am using them. Not that they are all that good but in recent weeks have been around a bit and they are examples of that and some things seen or done.
Went to NW Colorado specifically outside of Steamboat Springs for several days where I visited old friends and the fact of the matter many of the "friends" I have live there.
This is vehicle central with the camper and grey Element mine and the other is an '05 we drove down to Longmont which is on the Front Range and picked up It was just like new and was driven by a young lady only. It's true.
On the way elsewhere went by the Twenty Mile Mine located between Hayden and Oak Creek which continues to produce mass quantities of coal using German technology with a movable long wall underground.
Went to Dinosaur to see the new visitor center. It opened two weeks after I left the area just about three years ago.
Several interesting panels on the ground just inside the Utah line on the road to Steamboat Rock that starts at the visitor center on the Colorado side of the monument.
It's always pretty out here in the evening.
Sitting on top of Blue Mountain where in the early 80's the world championship for hang gliding took place. I was the only one around but three people drove up and were looking and preparing for anther like event late Aug 2015. They expect 150-175 participants. I think that would be quite a site to see. Here is some info on that @ Rocky Mountain Glider. This is one of the launch sites here.
Blue Mountain and where the campsite was above the camper.
The main reason for going to Dinosaur was the visitor center and to look for a certain style of petroglyph. This is what I call the "wall of bone" that is in the old visitor center. Wall of bone because that's what it is. Over the years Dinosaur has been noted for this and very likely you have seen it before. This is just huge and is hard to capture. It helps to click on the pictures to see them better. Third picture down has got some nasty teeth in it. This area was know for huge amounts of allosaurus a half size T-Rex.
This panel and others are impressive for sure and have what I'm interested in and that is pinwheels.
This has nothing to do with anything except it's here for some reason. A friend raised some 4000 cloves of organic garlic plus all kinds of other vegetables as well. Never had such good garlic before.
Moving right along. Sleeping Ute Mountain. Incredibly important to the Utes to this day.
This is in Hovenweep National Monument. Hovenweep is one of my favorite places and what has held true over the years remained the same in that this place and I cannot emphasize this enough has got to be one of the quietest places anywhere!! I mean that and it's one of the reasons I come. Not all the time but much of it you talk in whispers because normal speech seems too loud and it is.
It had rained and these frogs were out and they don't get to come out very often. There were quite a few of them actually.
If you ever come to what is know as "The Four Corners" area try and visit Hovenweep. There are several outliers that are very impressive as well plus others you may run across if you bush whack a bit. There were many people who lived here over the centuries. It's this area where I really feel at home for what ever reasons perceived or not.
Make sure you click on this guy a couple times.
One of my favorites and it's within what is known as the "Holly Group" outside of the main park. It's a four mile hike one way from there to here. I recommend taking the car for this.
Doorways and windows generally produce pretty decent pictures.
Sunsets and sky viewing was the best ever. Laying out looking at the cosmos, warm no bugs no nothing but you and the sky. For me it can't get much better.
It's a pretty weed isn't it.
This is a fairly new national monument. It's called "Chimney Rock". Wanted to see this and did. It was a bit of a bust in that it cost 12 smacks and you were very limited to where you can go.
This is worth seeing for sure and what's important is the ruins at the top are Chacoan in construction. Every archeologist agrees people from Chaco Canyon were involved with this building effort.
Wasn't able to take any decent pictures as you couldn't leave the path let alone go any farther than here in the picture. This guy wants to get out to the end. This is not to far from Mesa Verde.
There was a National Forest campground not far away. 18 smacks no water and marginal open pit units. It was $9 with my senior pass and not worth that but it was quiet as we were the only ones there.
The summer has just flown by. Relish in the warmth and being able to wear sandals and such from the time you get up till the time you turn in.
Without question Colorado has got to be one of the more diverse and best places in the world. Beauty pass all with something outside for all types of interest.
IF - - - - I only liked that 4th season I would be in Nirvana. Alas I do not. So lucky to be able to do this kinda stuff at this stage of the game I tell you.

My Neighbor/Friends/Ex Friends
I have been wanting to see my elderly neighbor who I like alot for awhile now but keep missing him. This morning he was outside and we chatted for a bit. He had mentioned a couple months ago that his wife of many years may have to leave their house because of her needs. Dan is 92. It was a sad discussion. UPDATE What I forgot to say he was taking her somewhere that very morning.
Another new acquaintance recently left to receive treatment for her recent diagnosis of the big C and it was very bad. 50 and her mom died at the same age of the same thing.
Yesterday had a fellow wanting to severely kick my ass in my own space. WTF anyway. Pretty damn strange!
Enjoy what you can before you get your ass kicked for no reason.

Yesterday had a fellow wanting to severely kick my ass in my own space. WTF anyway. Pretty damn strange!
Enjoy what you can before you get your ass kicked for no reason.

Hanging Out
That's what's been happening since the last post. I'm tired and beat down from the incessant and escalating stupidity and just about hardly give a shit much anymore. Most of the papers I have read for years online now require a subscription so it takes little time to look around. Enjoying the warmth of summer and have been just outside of Steamboat Springs for the last week.
I may have to come up here on a yearly basis as I get treated reeeeal good. There are more friends here than anywhere else. For people who are four season active this has to be in the top ten in the world for overall options year around.
So this morning am headed out to Dinosaur National Monument to see if I can find any more of these things. That and just relish in the area with all it's beauty and remoteness AND see the new visitor's center that opened two weeks after I left here three years ago. I understand it's really something.
So here are several fotos just because. I gave myself and a looong time friend up which does not happen hardly at all - well because it's a pretty decent picture not because we're good looking for damn sure at least me anyway.
Drove down to the front range last Saturday and my bud brought back this immaculate and rare colored '05 Element.
Hahns remembers me well and he sits patiently waiting for a pig to show. The animal on top of the rock in the photo above. They are called whistle pigs as their danger call is a very loud whistle. They are actually marmots.
I am outta here. Have a good one everybody. There are no internets where I'm headed and probably no phone either.

A Supreme Idiot
This "swinging bridge" over the Green River in far NW Colorado very close to Utah is VERY cool. There can't be too many like this left.
It's not so special right now because of someone who thinks he's entitled to do what he wants.
DeRose said she couldn't understand why someone would try to drive the tractor across the bridge since the structure was posted as only being able to hold three tons and the tractor would be significantly heavier than that. “We are making the owner remove it. We have people on site, but we are not going to be removing it ourselves,” said Linda DeRose, manager of the Moffat County Road and Bridge Department. “We are making the owner remove it. We have people on site, but we are not going to be removing it ourselves,” said Linda DeRose, manager of the Moffat County Road and Bridge Department.
The asshole who did this is rancher T. Wright Dickinson — a former Moffat County commissioner and this guy is correct to say this wheel of nowhere felt he can do as he pleases.
This will not be an easy removal or repair. Chances were good I was going to cross this in a couple weeks or so.
So T. Wright Dickhead needs his ass kicked severely back and forth across this bridge at least a dozen times with the public being allowed to watch.
Not far from here is where Tom Horn did his killing if that means anything.

Hanging Out
That's pretty much what's going on here. I will say it is a laid back place this Punta De Mita.
Of course it's warm and humid. Pretty quiet for the most part.
I guess there will be no pictures because upload speeds are non-existent. That sucks.
Will I travel here this winter? 50-50
Will I go anywhere this winter. Not so sure anymore.
Today was not a good day particularly.
Spilled coffee on my laptop and moved at the speed of light to limit the damage. It was messed up but gradually came back. Then it would not charge but that came back - both with the help of a room fan that I set it on. I'm lucky as I do want this. For me the internets is a pastime. Some shoot, some drink, some just work all the time and what have you. When not doing daily routine activities do want access to the Internet.
Then it started raining hard and realized and not quick enough water was coming in several places. Wouldn't have made much difference anyway. The wall in the bathroom for instance has openings to the outside and the rest has shutters. In my haste to close the shutters I slipped on the tile floor and fell hard. I have hurt myself but I hope not too badly. I'll be able to judge better tomorrow. I felt it in my left shoulder and collar bone when I hit. This clavicle has been broken three times in my life the last being a long time ago but still. I believe there may be a tiny fracture.
The other thing is that just next door and I mean just next door there are maybe four presidents - three for sure of Central American countries attending a conference of some kind. There are army and other types all over the place in fairly large #'s. They don't have much to do and could care less about me or anyone else.
That's what is known today in this world and little else.
Have a good one where ever you are.

Dad's Day
The same post for 014 as previous years. I miss my Dad.
The best to all Father's out there and I know most of you hold your children very close to your heart. Here is one of my favorite pictures of my Dad taken in France in 1945. Enjoy your day.
FROM LAST YEAR
Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there. I am not one and my dad is gone so the best to all of you guys out there. I bet my blogger friends who are fathers have some great kids. I miss my dad!
FROM '08
This is the first Father's Day I will not be making that call. I claim my Father's brother Rollie as a substitute Dad for this year. What I miss most is making those calls on a whim just to bs. The picture is a one shot deal. Up for a day only for the obvious reason. Taken next to the cornfield over two years ago the one I grew up in and my Dad farmed. Dad's name was Paul. NOTE The picture is back and will remain.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE GREAT FATHERS OUT THERE!
Dad is gone-Uncle Rollie's pooch gone-just found out another long time friend gone at 47-a first cousin soon to be gone-Tim Russert bang, gone at 58 my age-Mom's side of the family having a history of being gone just like that.
May not be related to Father's Day but very much value the close and few friendships I have and that includes relationships on the highway of the internets those that are the most informed of all.
Given the fragility of life every once in a while and the importance some put on theirs it's good to put things in perspective now and then. After all none of us are no more than piss ants in time. I love this video.

Lying POS Elk Killing Cop Convicted On All Counts
And as it should be. The information reported after this happened indicated to me this prick was guilty as hell.
May he never be allowed wear a badge again and never be able to own a gun.
May he also receive the maximum sentence.
From the moment a photo of a dead elk surfaced, the Boulder community has been captivated by the animal's fate and the hunt for what really happened on Mapleton Hill on Jan. 1, 2013.
After just a few hours of deliberation Tuesday, a Boulder County jury came to the same conclusion investigators did: Then-police officer Sam Carter plotted the kill and then used his badge to try to cover it up.Carter was found guilty on all nine counts — including four felonies — filed against him after a weeklong trial.

The Ongoing Chicken Saga
This is not a cooking blog but there is going to be some chicken cooked and eaten and rated. This whole story goes back decades and it's been over two years since this post on "Mushy Chicken". What's interesting here is what is actually seen. Click on the second picture and you'll understand. Too strange.
The go to person on this subject is Cosumne Gal and this post she did on conversations and comments from the post here just the other day "Did You Know This About Chickens?".
Briefly I bought a special expensive chicken to see how it tastes compared to what is remembered. There is still when I get enthused Fly's whole chicken story to come. Something like his religion story but different. To remember this chicken story you have to be older and if anyone remembers like I do they are more than likely older as well. Chicken started turning to the dark side many years ago now.
There is so much back round in Cosumne Gal's post as history and experiences from the 60's are described. It's interesting.
Here we go. Click the picture and you can see the specifics. $2.55 a lb/4.28lbs for a final number of $10.91. Most expensive bird I ever did buy by quite a margin.
Here is is completely naked. I picked the wrong one and was after a 3.5 chicken as was pretty much the size way back when. It's close enough. Nice looking bird we got here.
Look at line on the leg. Odd for sure and a guess would be higher up closer to the back the skin has a tendency to be bit more fatty- but a line like this.
Update - I clicked on the first link and that nasty bird has the same type of line. What do I know.
OUT OF FOCUS - I took this to illustrate the size of parts. The leg was just average. I really like legs ever since a pup. You've probably seen the results on chicken you have purchased from the hooks used during processing on the legs. I find it very unappealing. I like what's on both ends of the leg - always have.
As for the breast it is a wee bit large but acceptable and no where close to what you get now. Many like huge breasts. Myself I'm more of a middle of the road fellow. This was cut into three portions and the whole chicken four portions.
What prompted this chicken attitude was that the other night I barbequed four chicken legs and no smoke came off the grill They were border line horrible. This bird produced some smoke. That's kinda like old days for sure.
I grilled a piece of breast, the neck and the back plus the gizzard and heart those last two are already history here. Not the choicest pieces but there were reasons. Don't misunderstand I really like necks a lot!
The neck got taken off early. As a side note the vegetable cooker does a great job and cook bunches of vegetables like this. All kinds of things go in here. Really good.
The final result on da plate. The heart and gizzard were fine and I like those just as much as anything else. Never was a thigh guy until a few years ago when I was down to eating marinated chicken thighs cooked as hot the grill would go. It was the only part that I could find any flavor but even that stopped. Occasionally over the years would try chicken but it was mostly a disappointment.
So it's like this folks. This tasted pretty good all in all and I have three tries left two of which will have legs my favorite piece.
It was not mushy and there was actually decent flavor and some juices all reminiscent of times gone by. And yes I want the skin and this skin was very good. The neck was tasty the white meat moist and the back greasy and that's why I cooked that just to see what was there. Compared to what's been this was a nice surprise b b b b b but it's very expensive so it should be half decent anyway.
I would say if what was remembered is a 10 I think this deserves 7.5 maybe 7.8. I enjoyed it and look forward to having more like tomorrow.
