This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Nice Surprise

These were good times back then. I'd go for a bit of Indian Summer just now.

Was looking at Poco videos and lo and behold as they say here was one uploaded by Susan the Neon Nurse. Met Susan at a Progress Now Roots Camp in Denver a few weeks ago. What a nice surprise. Never know what or who you'll run across on the internets.

William the Bloody

Listen to this delusional insane bastard. He was one of the many war whores on Fox Whore News that took this country to war on lies. War is good for him and his employer just as long he and his remain here. After all some have to fight the battle stateside you know. Telling lies is hard work too. 30sec

One Ornery Bastard

Ran across this ornery fellow that has prompted this post. His site and this one are similar as to the number of hits they take and to the content. He is pretty damn ornery though so don't be offended. Have linked to that because I appreciate how in no uncertain terms the way he expresses his outrage plus it's funny. Ornery Bastard is worth a visit.

This site was and is an experiment and with Sitemeter much can be learned. Chief Russ gets googled a bit. Links in the local paper generate many hits but no more than a couple from Oak Creek it's self. Of the last 100 visitors 2 of 17 from here spent 8min. A few visitors actually spend an hour or two. The average is 7min.

A comment about this site mentioned "propaganda" which is interesting. Itch so bad to get ornery! The worst here was "sacless bastards" because it happens to be true. Of course whores because that's true too. Posts on the town are informational only. It's the Internet and Blogging. Didn't understand the magnitude of this initially but that has changed. For monkeys even though all the bananas in the world would not change your mind Al Gore did not invent the Internet! If one chooses to visit this site there is actually quite a bit of information on the town of Oak Creek.

What is important is not what's on this piss ant site that takes13 hits a day but what's going to be on. The FCC this afternoon voted for more media consolidation against the pleas of all as there was no one who voiced approval for more consolidation. This is so the propaganda monkeys can get theirs. The kind that took us to war on lies when the truth of the matter was the only truth at that time was on the Internet and a handful of programming that media giants don't include. Why did this happen? Because Chairman Kevin Martin is a little neocon whore along with the other two who voted with him. Net Neutrality has taken a back burner and you can bet your life the battle for who controls the Internet will be rejoined? If that battle is lost chances are very high sites like this will be extremely difficult to access if at all. Things like that is what this is all about.

Progress Now Roots Camp

Last weekend (12/1) for two full days I attended this event organized by ProgressNow. Met many like minded Progressive people and was impressed by each and every one. The staff was great. Here's Alan Franklin the IT manager. Bobby Clark the Deputy Director. Brittney Wilburn the Outreach Director and there are others. Another clip that aired on Fox 31 about bloggers and the upcoming DNC convention and the role ProgressNow will play.

I was impressed by the passion of all and their knowledge of the issues. ProgressNow is a player for sure and in the future will continue to make positive Progressive change in Colorado and beyond. I encourage everyone to participate whether it's with this group or another.

Courtesy of Square State this video filmed at Roots Camp answers many questions about blogging at and access during the DNC convention. This event will probably be the most important convention ever. The blogging world will attend this in force and this is an excellent resource tool for that purpose.

The Ghosts of Misplaced Conscience

Everything about America is done to the max-super sized-including ourselves. Americans are fond of excess, fond of glitz and glitter, the bright beads and trinkets of capitalism; the symbols of conspicuous consumption. Millions of us live in McMansions, drive fast cars and hulking tanks and work at high stress glamorous jobs that provide enormous financial reward but leave us spiritually empty.

Thanksgiving Trip

click on picture for a large image
Just don't what to say about this trip. So many empty school buildings with some districts struggling. Have to say there was just not much bitching. That could be a first. I did see a few pigs but only in one spot. An acre of land continues to sell for 5-6k an acre. If you want to buy a new combine from John Deere you can order it but you won't get it until '09 and it will probably be the same for tractors. Already the record harvest corn crop is mostly spoken for and and what has traditionally been the case of export for food (hunger) will not be happening.

In these two buildings there are plenty of pigs probably about 4-5000 of them.

It was so cold and windy this was hard to do

This is the bridge over the Missouri River that one enters the hinterland.

Most all the crops are in but a few are still out.

There are rolls of corn stalks every where you look. Some places are using them as wind breaks. These are used for cattle feed but in the future this will also be used for bio-fuel.
I poke fun at the state and the people that live here but I can say the visit today from the county hospital in respect to in-home services for my Father was very professional and just as helpful.
I have kept close to home and have heard rumors of the main topics of the bitching. Will find out what exactly they are soon. I guess there is one I've heard which is the old stand-by of "we aren't making any money". I do know these operators can cash rent at $230 an acre get an average crop and still do well. Beans are at $10 and corn a bit over $4 a bushel. Still have not seen a pig. TB

Today I am leaving and driving to a place that has massive amounts of corn, pigs, cattle, religion, ethanol plants and at this time presidential politics. The issue of politics will center around bitching about the number of various solicitations people receive from all the candidates. There will be other bitching going on too that’s a given. Farmers bitch that just the way it is. Whether they’re bitching about the same thing or something new or bitching about a couple of things fact of the matter is there will be plenty of bitching like always. That’s life on the farm in Iowa. There are tens of thousands of pigs everywhere but you hardly ever see one. What you do see is a lot of semi’s, combines and tractors.

Because it will not be convenient to administer to this site changes through the week will be a bit limited. I would like to thank all those who have visited this site and particularly those of you who come back regularly. This site is what it is and has changed several times along the way and will probably continue to do so. I encourage all to explore this medium of blogging on the internets irregardless of the topic of interest or political position.

Have a fun Thanksgiving. TB

Interesting post from Riverbend

Bloggers Without Borders...
Syria is a beautiful country- at least I think it is. I say “I think” because while I perceive it to be beautiful, I sometimes wonder if I mistake safety, security and normalcy for ‘beauty’. In so many ways, Damascus is like Baghdad before the war- bustling streets, occasional traffic jams, markets seemingly always full of shoppers… And in so many ways it’s different. The buildings are higher, the streets are generally narrower and there’s a mountain, Qasiyoun, that looms in the distance.

There are an estimated 1.5 MILLION Iraqi refugees in Syria alone. Since the fall of Hussein in 2003 only 833 Iraqis have been permitted asylum in the US, and we will fall far short of our promised 7,000 entries for this year.

What is Exaflood

This is very interesting in respect to the numbers involved and the dramatic rate of growth. It only names the major players not the small providers such as we use in Oak Creek. There is an ongoing attempt by corporations to gain control over access to the Internet. This is called "Net Neutrality" which would create a two-tiered system which unless one payed their ability to access the Internet would be severely restricted. The Internet was created to give all people any where in the world just that-equal access.

House Panel Approves International Internet Freedom Bill

By Sarah Lai Stirland EmailOctober 24, 2007 | 8:46:16 PMCategories: Sunshine and Secrecy, Surveillance

The House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday approved a bill that aims to shield the citizens of repressive regimes from the overbearing reach of their government officials.

What's interesting about this is that just before this object impacts the first time if you look closely the attitude changes which allows it to "skip" off. This does not happen before the second impact and the angle is greater and it disintegrates. If the angle was the same as the first time at this speed it would have skipped again.

Although a plug for Kuccinich there are some good laughs in here with The Beave and his family.

Dec 15-17
Rep. Wexler tells it like it is and calls for the impeachment of Cheney. It's the House of Representatives responsibility to do so or at least investigate. It's part of the oath they take to hold those in charge responsible. Take action here.

Face the State headline distorted news article's quote to add a bogus attack on "liberal[s]" This is about the first successful petition drive in Longmont concerning an annexation for the Life Bridge Christian Church. An early article in the Denver Post gives some background. Jen Gartner started this petition. Jen herself explains below.

Dec. 8-10
War pig Bolton says NIE report is political. This pompous horses ass spews the same crap every time the truth comes out. It's for the benefit of the conventional media to spread around, discuss with pundits who agree so that in the end his opinion is given credibility when the truth of the matter is that he has none. Give those who can easily refute these lame dick opinions the same time but no our media loves war just as much as the war lovers in charge.

The issue of DU (depleted uranium) has not been a topic for a long time but has been on my mind recently.
Happened across a new video by a WWII veteran whose son died from its affects. This material will be around for 4.2 billion years and this country continues to use it. More importantly it's this interview conducted on 1/30/03 by Amy Goodman with Dr. Asaf Durakovic the one who brought this issue initially into the public domain. Fired by the military for doing so he makes the unarguable case against this deadly material. It's science and mathematics facts that cannot lie but yet this administration says it is and the whore media allows them to do so with out questioning. If you watch you will always remember this. The interview with Dr. Durakovic starts at 29 min.

How can there be any meaningful discussion on issues when so many minds are filled with hate and bigotry? One can raise children to be and believe what ever is programmed into them.
You can have them believe the earth is flat or the earth is 6000 years old or whatever but it does not make it so. That's why I choose Reality over the other.

THIS IS SCARY! Put a Darth Vader dress on this Democrap and it's not Lieberwhore.

“We don’t know why you were arrested,” he said, “we are only carrying out orders from high up. But I think your own government had a hand in it because you embarrassed the Ambassador when she was in town.”

If you don't watch Olbermann fyi he's the only one telling it like it is. A bit long winded he plunges a knife of truth dead center into the heart of the imbecile in charge and calls him for what he always has been. An outright boldfaced liar!

What do you do when your caught in yet again another lie? Do what simpleton Fred does as all the Repugs are doing you blame somebody else as is always the case.
"I don't have the confidence in our own intelligence capabilities to make that assessment"

Democrats want probe of tape destruction. No shit Cisco! This means squat just like all the other threats over the last seven years from these sacless bastards who are almost as bad as the other side. No matter what side one is on we both need truth not continual lies and blame.

Why did the CIA destroy the the
tapes? Why did the White House destroy millions of e-mails on their own server but also on the RNC server which is a crime in itself? You can do it I know you can. How about they are covering their lying treasonous asses because they knew what they had done, have been and are doing can have them swinging just like our former partner Saddam. That's why.

Dec. 1-4
This may be funny but it's dead serious about the state of conventional media in this country. Liberal media my a##.

This is incredible and should remind all of us no matter who you are or how important you make think you are that in Reality all of us are no more than piss ants in time!

Robert Parry tells the truth about Hyde and also Lee Hamilton. Remember- Parry was the reporter who broke the Iran-Contra story. If there was a God Hyde would be in hell.

The death of ex-Congressman Henry Hyde is drawing fond eulogies from both sides of the political aisle and across Official Washington. But no attention is being paid to Hyde's crucial role in covering up the worst political crimes of the Reagan-Bush era.

Wake-Up Call -- Dave Lindorff

REPORT: Coalition Of The Defeated

Last weekend, Australian Labor leader Kevin Rudd defeated staunch Bush ally Prime Minister John Howard, handing the conservative party its “worst election defeat in its 63-year history” and ending 12 years of conservative rule. Howard “suffered the additional ignominy of losing his own constituency seat,” the first time since 1929 that an Australian prime minister has been voted out of parliament.

Howard’s fate is similar to the story of many other Bush-friendly world leaders. After joining Bush’s Coalition of the Willing in 2003, several countries’ leaders have been ousted from office. In fact, of the original 49 countries who joined the Coalition, the AP reports that roughly 20 remain, with several in the process of withdrawing troops.

ThinkProgress has compiled a new report, highlighting the fate of world leaders from “coalition of the willing” countries who sent troops to support the invasion. Of 14 major partners in the Coalition, eight leaders were defeated in elections, two stepped down, two were term limited, and two remained in office. Click here to view the full report.

Albania PM Fatos Nano Defeated, July 2005
Australia Pres. John Howard Defeated, Nov. 2007
Britain PM Tony Blair Stepped down, June 2007
Denmark PM Anders Fogh Rasmussen In office (pledged withdrawal in Feb. 2007)
Dominican Republic Pres. Hipolito Mejia Defeated, May 2004
El Salvador Pres. Francisco Flores Perez Term Limited, March 2004
Hungary PM Peter Medgyessy Defeated, Aug. 2004
Italy PM Silvio Berlusconi Defeated, April 2006
Japan PM Junichiro Koizumi Stepped down, Sept. 2006
Norway PM Kjell Magne Bondevik Defeated, Sept. 2005
Poland Pres. Aleksander Kwaśniewski Term Limited, Dec. 2005
Romania PM Adrian Năstase Defeated, Nov. 2004
South Korea Pres. Roh Moo-hyun In office
Spain PM Jose Maria Aznar Defeated, March 2004

Australia, Britain, Italy, and Spain contributed tens of thousands of combat troops to the war. But as the war unfolded, each leader lost popularity at home and was eventually voted out of office. Their successors either have withdrawn — or are in the process of withdrawing — their nations’ troops from Iraq.

These leaders’ fates should also carry a clear message here at home — support Bush’s war and be voted out of office. View the compilation HERE.

Here is the first gated community in Steamboat Springs located in the 1100 block of Steamboat Blvd. called Stone Bridge.

You have watched this go up on the way into Middle Routt located just south of Haymaker GC. This is not your regular barn but a art and party barn. A million dollar one where the electrical alone was 100k. The place the people will stay east of this when they come to visit price tag will approach 10 million. I have a hard time saying house because when a structure one sleeps in costs that much it is something other than a house.

Convention media in this country are such whores to allow this lie to go unchallenged which is now being used by others in their presidential bid. It's so disgusting.

George W. Bush has told a stunning number of lies about the Iraq War and the "war on terror." But some seem to be his particular favorites, like the one about Saddam Hussein's WMD defiance that Bush retold while standing next to French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

An Act of Terrorism? Blackwater Sniper Shot Dead Three Iraqi Guards At Iraqi Media Center in February

Steve Fainaru of the Washington Post discusses his new account of the February killings. After a brief investigation, the U.S. government concluded that the actions of Blackwater fell within approved rules governing the use of force, but the Iraqi police described the shootings as an "act of terrorism." Time to Apologize to Plame/Wilson
By Robert Parry
October 31, 2007

Robert Perry broke the Iran-Contra story in the 80's. He is one of the best then and now. The conventional media continues to cast doubt on her authenticity. The reality is that this event constitutes and act of treason never seen before. When you cross these guys there is a price to pay and when you perform ineptly and support the agenda you are rewarded. Below is her interview with Jon Stewart.

The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog said Sunday he had no evidence Iran was working actively to build nuclear weapons and expressed concern that escalating rhetoric from the U.S. could bring disaster.

A BUZZFLASH INTERVIEW with Valerie Plame Wilson

Yes, the reason why this is a treasonous act -- taking me and my particular case out of it -- is that this sort of thing jeopardizes assets who are trying to help our national security -- not to mention future potential sources of information, foreign ones. They may say to themselves: "I really have critical intelligence. I’d like to work with the CIA, for whatever host of motivations. But, gee, it looks like they couldn’t even protect one of their own. Why should I put myself in the line of fire? I’m going to go talk to the Russians down the street."
