This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

We Train Them And Then They're Used Against Us

From the mouths of the oil and gas industry - -

When the amount of money involved is as great as it is and the funds available to pursue these riches is unlimited that opens up the door to stuff like this. They say it's only to assist communities in adopting local ordinances and such but that's pure bull shit.

Psyops techniques are just that and I don't give a shit - this ain't right. We don't have any kind of national energy policy that would lessen our dependency and use soldiers trained in psychological operations to manipulate the process at local level to benefit the industry who would drill in your living room if they could.

  1. The only energy policy that we have is the extension of Empire.
All falling empires have over extended themselves in search of resources.
That is until they have fallen into the abyss.
We are staring into the abyss.

  2. One of these days people are going to wake up to all this BS adoration of vets of the all-volunteer military. Fact is, the population still knew in 1950 why people make careers of the military, even though the draft had been going on for 10 years. The Merle Travis song, Reinlistment Blues of that time said it all.

I used to think getting rid of the draft was a good thing, but it resulted in a bunch of folks who aren't citizen soldiers, they're people who chose it because of the money, the benefits and the fact they couldn't get as good a job anywhere else.

And when someone orders them to fire on US citizens they're going to do it a lot more readily than an army of draftees would have. History's playing tricks. They're just mercenaries, same as any other mercenaries.

  3. If there was one thing and one thing only that the masers of war learned from Nam.
Never, ever, bring back the draft.

  4. I've had Caltrans use the same tactics (though poorly) when I had issues with their bad planning. The engineers don't use it nearly as well as the right-of-way agents do. I called an engineer on his divide-and-conquer tactics one day, asking if they'd sent him to classes to learn them. He said, "Yes, we call it Asshole School." I really can't imagine being treated as poorly by invading troops as I have, consistently, by my own government.

  5. The draft should always be with us, with few to no exemptions, to ensure that all Americans have a vested interest in staying the hell out of war. "I can better serve my country by managing a hedge fund." should not fly.

  6. Great comments everyone. If only our way could be tried for a change on the issue we face - but it won't be.

I'll add that if the orders came down all those who carry the guns for the most part would turn on us.

bama could stop the torture of OWS people at the hands of these people but of course he's not going to do that.

    Thanks!
