This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Our Hi-Speed Rail Projects

Yesterday it was announced $2.4 billion was released for hi-speed projects here in the states. But the numbers are not good at all.

Once again folks when it comes to the war machine we can feed that continuously but when it comes to what is needed here well ya see you don't understand - that to use these things we need here we have to be protected first. In other words - - -

Most important here is that these projects even if accomplished are at least 20 years out easy. We needed them now. Anyone thinks we're going to get anything of any substance from DC you're nuts and the HCB does not count as a keeper in that respect.

  1. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/2010/10/29/20101029phoenix-high-speed-rail.html

As you know I live near Phoenix.
3 million people in metro Phoenix.
There is not even an AMTRAK station here.
The CA. Governator went to Asia. S/Korea, Japan, and of course China.
One of the topics of concern were Ca. bullet trains. Not only will one of those countries build it, but they will probably also finance it.
You are correct, we can not wait 30 fucking years. Europe and Asia is laughing at us.
When I was in Korea 2 years ago I was on their bullet train. What a joy.
When I used to go to Europe 30-40 years ago they already had bullet trains.
While we are still sitting on a cho cho train.

  2. Whatever happened to shovel ready projects? Seems to me there are millions of them. Problem to me is there are too many that want Obama to fail and not for America to succeed. Things will get done if the R's get power again even though we will not like it because they will be crying loudly we are to blame. It pisses me off but Dems do not know how to play this game!

  3. No Jim they do not have a clue and doubt they'll get one.

RZ-I think that figure is 6.2 mil

  4. So, we're already at least 20 years behind the curve. Great. That's what 30 years of Republican policies will do to a country.

Funny: word verification "mactis" is that a male cactus?

  5. That's funny Lisa and you sure are right about Republicans. Just imagine if one way or the other they manage to get back into power as perverted as they are today.

  6. sounds good lisa g!

halloween will be extra scary this yes just thinking about the possibility of the return of bush like zombies that are even worse

  7. Yes, we can feed the war machine because powerful people make money on wars.

I found out tonight that someone I know has PTSD and he only did 2 1 yr tours over there. Grrrrrr.

  8. And just how many are there going to be total. I hate to even think about it. Coming to a neighborhood near all of us.
