This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Amendment 48 = Crazy Bastards

The group petitioning to define a person, for purposes of constitutional protections, as "any human being from the moment of fertilization," obtained more than 103,000 valid signatures, the Colorado secretary of state's office announced Thursday. The amendment will now go before voters in the Nov. 4 election.

The article above frames what this is about and the people behind it. Wendy Norris writes two very informative articles on this measure here and here. They got enough of the mind fucked to get it on the ballot in November. That's the process but it makes this no less asinine. Doesn't take much of an imagination to come up with reasons why this idea is so nutso like those behind it.

Hey I want to enroll this freshly fertilized egg into Yale to become smarter like my Preznut did. Or calling the cops for loud neighbors that are disturbing the person zygote. Jesus christ how fucking dumb is this shit anyway? Makes the whole state look stupid but these crazys are all over not just here.

The chance of this passing is slim of course but you never know sometimes as it's a fact there are some really dumb fucking people who vote and think they have a brain and that is dangerous and the best example of that is Bushmeister the killer Prez.

Saturday met a representative from Protect Families Protect Choice who said just that. The purpose and their efforts are to see that this measure is squashed like an elephant stepping on a dung beetle. I'm all for that even though these insane fuckers won't realize after it's over how out of touch with reality they really are.

  1. Wow. Un. Fucking. Believable.
This addition to Colorado's ballot makes me as sad as thinking about your photo today of the abandoned and decayed grandstand. It was a rodeo arena I'm guessing? I'd love to hear the stories that place could tell.

  2. That it is Jeg and I want the stories too. That sits less than a mile north of Burns on the Colorado River Road.
