Simply - these last years have seen many crimes committed. Not going to try to narrow it down completely to those who did nor put specifics on what constitutes a crime.
But one thing is for certain I know one when I see it. For instance you know the Iraq war for lies is a good starting point. Valerie Plame is another for instance. The list goes on in the hundreds possibly thousands. Nothing new here.
From the very beginning when all of this shit started I really can't think of anybody that has been held accountable of any consequence for committing crimes and crimes have been committed without question. Scooter Libby does not count.
They left a really excellent trail and didn't try to hide what they were doing with some of it. In fact at times they were downright proud just like old Ollie was.
So the question is-why did they continue to do whatever they wanted for years breaking laws and raping the Constitution at will?
And If I were to be asked this question the answer I would give would be because they could but more importantly they knew then that they were never going to be prosecuted.
It's been that way all along and has not changed to this day. They know for a fact that they can basically operate any way they want and the only thing is that there will be a small challenge from our side and then it is forgotten. And that goes for what happens in Congress as well that a small group can stop the process and with the help of the media change and manipulate people doing things they would not normally do. It may be propaganda but the result is brainwashing and we are so very screwed!
I totally agree. There is presently a group of folks in DC who go along to get along and want no part of rocking the boat. The American public are led by the nose ring of MSM and we that sit on the outside nose ringless just have to take what we are given. It will change when the scale tips to far. I have resigned myself to this and the only other option is doing what the birth/tea/birthers might do in the next 3 1/2 years and when we reach that point where we disagree to the point where you and I quit our jobs and fight full time will it change. Sucks to be us!
ReplyDeletePaul Krugman called what you are describing in economic terms, "the great unravelling". Since we live in a political- economic context throughout our working lives: ie; where winners and losers are determined by elites thru gov't policies or not we get what they are willing to give us. I think we are now experiencing the unravelling of our society to a great extent. The center no longer holds sway. We are grouped and subgrouped into a new form of tribalism. Support and context for our very existence resides in our tribe; our affinity group, connected by phone and the internet by and large. When those in power punish; think Nurse Ratchet-like, we see their decisions as personal and devastating to our group. Guess what? That is exactly what they intended; the ruling elites want to add injury to insult. They want to stifle and strangle us and our tribe, our group. All monolithic groups, the Catholic church is the prime example, kill the heretics or the questioners of the official party line. We are in the end the frogs, slowly being boiled, and too bad for us our political and judicial leaders are reduced to mere firetenders. They, including the Obamas, do the dirty work for the elites: they just do it in such a nice way we end up aiding and abetting the enemy in our own personal and spiritual executions. When we quit hanging together we were much more easily dispatched with separately.
