How much I'm not sure really but I can tell you that the blood and guts piling up in their country has grown old and there is talk about some form of legalization of drugs.
Here apparently we love war and death because when there is talk of stopping the killing it is generally met with derision from most of the media that ones who speak of such are not really "true Americans" ya see there.
On a national level here just the thought of talk like this has politicians scurrying away. We need this discussion so badly from those who can make change but like most everything we won't get it because we love the other far too much.
Thank you Mexico and start talking soon and force these bastards here to do the same. I am so weary of being considered a criminal which I am not and want to see change before I croak!
Ca'mon Tom, obviously you don't understand how wars benefit 'merica. Winning is obviously not considered in the planning, enactment and conclusion, although some wars like the war on drugs is one that keeps on giving to corporate 'merica with all the prisons that need to be built to house the unwashed and lazy drug users and the inventions that protect our boys in blue that must deal with the unwashed and dangerous one ounce bag folks like the Tazers and SWAT vehicles that every town in "merica must have now. When are you gonna smarten up and get with the program?
ReplyDeleteThat is a big double yuk yuk there my friend. I plead cornfield in my ignorance.
ReplyDeleteWe are always a little late getting with the program. Like 30 years or so. But you know, something to look forward too. ;)
ReplyDeleteNot sure this proves Mexico is smarter than the U.S. They've suffered a hell of a lot more than we have, at least so far. More people have died there in the drug war, and it really is a war there, than live in many of the places I grew up in.
ReplyDeleteWhich is not to say that we're incredibly dense as a people, and seldom learn even from our own mistakes, let alone others. We are. But I suspect that 50k or so deaths in a three-year span, which is the equivalent of Mexico scaled up to U.S. size, would probably focus our attention on what's really important.
Hell no it don't Cujo but at least there is a enough interest that it generates a story. We're a ling ways from even a story.
ReplyDelete25 knocked off in Juarez today!
One Fly - you know how it is. We have that second amendment and it is considered a solution. Perhaps this is why we love us some violence. The media and computer games don't help much in stopping violence either.
ReplyDeleteOne thing's for certain One Fly, along with Indians here in the Southwest they sure got hella better teeth from the lime in corn tortillas.
ReplyDeleteMight classify better teeth as smarter, anyway!
