This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

Slogging Along - And The Numbers Are

Not good as expected. I suppose they are just fine if it's not one of yours and you luv Amerika and it's wars of choice.

Do not be deceived by the 45 dead below and if you're a nutter you may say it's better since we got OBL. Of course that is incorrect as we have to factor in bama's 15 dead in Irak and when you do that well wa-la we hit 60 just like in the same month a year ago.

And the sheep bleet for more and wave their flags of freedom over this boom boom holiday where they celebrate the idea they/we are better than any other country on the globe because we have more guns and bullets than anyone else along with a never ending supply of willing targets.

You betcha -it's freedom you'll be hearing this weekend. Just forget these other people below and party on!

  1. You have a way of getting right to the point, hitting the nail on the head, and I thank you.

  2. So Teresa-I need another trip to the Indian boonies as I have kind of worked my way back into the political thing. I have put these up for some time and OTC has always been an antiwar sight.

This needs to be said day in and day out about our guys who die on a daily basis for no good reason Irak's deaths will never be justified because everyone of ours died for a lie.

There is no nice when it comes to this. Thank you.

I have pictures but am falling asleep or run out of time before I can get them posted at the picture place.

    Have a fun weekend.

  5. I am now depressed again, as the killing of our men and women continue unabated in the vast wasteland of Afghanistan.

Twice as many of our soldiers have been killed on OBama's watch as were murdered on Bush's..and the time span is so fucking short..it boggles the mind.

Off Topic..I LOVE your header..dude that is spectacular!

  6. Try not to be Dusty because I guess the bottom line this is where we are at now as a country. This is what America is all about now. It's accepted behavior.

Glad you liked that. I did not think it was that good.

  7. Your photo was great, but bear in mind I am such a rookie at taking pictures and I have no idea how to use all the wonderful features on on Nikon D40 that I have had for two years now.

I am a typeA personality. I swing from one emotion to the next so fast, it will make your head spin m'dear. ;)

  8. What's going to make Obama a one term president is keeping the wars going.

  9. And you were the one whose pictures I liked so much and started doing the same D. That's a really nice camera. I just remember I was struck by some of your photos I saw at your place. That's been a long time ago.

That sure as hell is part of it parick. Repugs like war so maybe he'll get a bunch from them.

  10. I forgot to say Dusty to sit down with the book and play and experiment. Just get the basics down in respect to the settings normally used and become familiar with them and you'll move on. Mine is 4-5 years old and I was looking in the manual today because I've been disppointed too much with results.
