This is Bistek al la Mexicana a common dish found many places. There are several places I get this some better than others but all real decent! Kind of a tomato based sauce with generally pretty tender pieces of beef and a fair amount of it. The rice is pretty generic but the frijoles can be something else. This also includes as many fresh made in front of you tortillas you want and brought to you with a smile. Something like this costs around 50-60 pesos or $3. The squeezed as you watch orange juice is 20 and brings the price up a bit but worth it. Nothing in the States I've ever had compares to this not even close plus it'll cost 7-10 smacks. I don't know what I'm going to eat when I return. It will be an adjustment as I do this so much that is go into Puerto Vallarta on the south side and have me a excellent lunch with "real" Mexican food not the slop I get back there. I do not plan on eating out much at all only at maybe three select places. Pricey yes but worth it because it's so good. I threw away so much money last summer eating way overpriced shitty food. Several times the food got thrown away as well. The whole of Mexico is an eating machine I tell you. I'm gonna miss this.

I feel good and and think the higher temps and humidity contributes to that. It's the same every time. After a month or two you realize and say " Hey I feel pretty damn good!"

Just as important I believe the food made fresh with wholesome fresh ingredients as well contributes to that. Get off the bus in town the food smells everywhere make me hungry just like that.

So What

They're kinda brown and look funny plus they're not Americuns. They wouldn't understand why we gotta kill them there rather than here ya see. It's all for a good reason. Move along.

  1. The bug in the header looks incredible! But then, all your captures are like that.

As for the Afghan casualties - it's very sad, and it's high time all these killings stop. People in the USA should go out into the streets and demand the government to put an end to the futile war going on there.

  2. Agree with both of you. Also I've been there and done that and look forward to being able to do it some more because I'm going to have some time on my hands.

I keep bringing this up where no one else does. How did we get here? Wars for lies and no accountability for treasonous action by the killer bushes. If it's not brought up they will do it again and again and bama has taken the lead on another war front.

Will Amerika ever say no to war? I have severe doubts.

Crazy looking critters aren't they when they're young.

    It's fun damn it!

    Thanks girls.

  3. I seriously think too many people are so self-centered they can't see past what's happening on their own street- add the dumbing down of the population & the hate spewed by the tea party...plus we've got that long history of treating people badly...I think too many just get numb. Not that it's ok...
On a subject I'm emotionally equipped for-
About that insect... Did I miss the details somewhere? What is it? Did it land on you? Was there a bite involved? It's a fascinating photo.

There is more than one thing going on with our populace for sure. One thing is for certain. Not many know anything outside of their very small immediate worlds.

  5. O could end this madness.
Instead they want to stay in Iraq, and Afghanistan.
How many civilians have died by the hands of NATO in Libya.
A joy stick is not what it meant when I was a kid.
Now it is a trigger for death.
    Drones R U.S.A.
We are having drone fly overs in Yemen, and Somalia.
    We say nothing about Bahrain.
We sit idly by as Israel continues their apartheid policies against the Palestinian people.

  7. OF..have you given the website mizozo.com permission to use all of your posts..complete with photos, graphics etc? The guy running the site has plagerized all my work from my new site and is now taking my work down as I threatened legal action. He has them us as if he is the original content creator.

The only reason I ask is that he mentions your blog in one of the emails he has sent me after I told him he was violating the DMCA which is a federal law that protects us from copyright infringement on the internet.

  8. Dusty-long time ago he contacted me and asked me to post there and I did a few times. I very much like the way the place looked. Of course there was no agreement that he could take my posts and claim them. I'll go look as I've not been there in so long. Thanks D. He seemed very straight forward.

    Gonna look right now.

  9. He is taking the entire work of Avg American Patriot and Jolly Roger, two guys I have known for years. I doubt that they gave him permission to take their work and claim it as his own. I notified them as well. I never gave him permission to use anything of mine, although he claims I did.

I did not see any of your blog posts there but the guy said you had given him permission to plagiarize your work...because it IS plagiarizing when you take ALL of someone's content and then claim it as your own...which is what he did to me.
