Maybe people will settle for endless war, martial law, defacto segregation based on income and birthplace, fascism via corporate control of the appartus of gov't and no healthcare, etc. Maybe Faux News, Glenn Beck, Rush and Tom Delay are the stars and we'll be dancing a new dance: the goosestep. Why do we have for-profit hospitals and insurance companies? It makes no moral sense. The common good is being sacrificed for profit. They only operate for profit because they are allowed to, much to the delight of Wall Street. Blackmailing and fear-mongering is a desperate tactic.
